Diamondback Ascent
Hello everybody
I just gt this new bike for around $30 dlls
Its a Diamondback Ascent, thinking early 90s but if anyone knows year will be excellent.
Also, I made some general maintance to it and found a little big setback on the bottom bracket.
It seems the one that this bike uses its a little longer than the common ones today.
żDoes anyone knows where I can get one to work on my bike?
The inscription says 1.27x24t KAJITA japan
Rear dellarieluer has one damage wheel, also looking to reemplace them
What ya think of the bike? is it possible to find the missing piece?

Everything on that bike is replaceable, it's a fine bike,. I don't quite understand the question about the bottom bracket. Are you asking about axle length or bottom bracket width? (should be 68mm) Can you rebuild instead of replacing it?
Shimano derailleurs are so easy to come by.

As I remember, that's a 73mm bottom bracket shell. I have a 21" Ascent set up as a single speed, so I used a 73mm cartridge BB with a much shorter Spindle than stock.

If I was you I’d read up on overhauling a bottom bracket, they are pretty robust, unless there is something really wrong a good cleaning and some cheap new ball bearings will have it feeling good as new.
Sweet bike though, congrats on the score.

The S/N indicates that the frame is from May 1990.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
The BB was totally damaged since wasnt the right lenght, I tried to put a new one and well it didnt fit.
Im waiting for a 73mm sealed BB to see if will work.
Also I installed a nexus front dynamo hub and cant wait to ride it.
