Thanks everyone for all the input, very much appreciated!

I've been doing quite a bit of research on these rims (Mavic Cosmic Pro Exalith) and it looks like the rim bed and brake surface may actually be be their "Maxtal" aluminum alloy. Then they use carbon fiber to add the extra depth to the rim profile. Still trying to figure out exactly how all this works but feel like it might be a bit better if the screw punctured metal vs. carbon.

Anyone know anything about these rims?

As someone else suggested, fill the hole up with a good epoxy, and you should be good to go.
