Tire Substitution Ok ?

I have a 26" Schwinn front wheel in great condition but the tire is bad and someone put the wrong size tube on it. I tried to look it up but the articles I read require the ISO on the tire and this one isn't marked.

26"×1 3/4" S7 is the marking on the tire I want to replace. Is there an easy to find substitute size that will fit in the rim ? I'm certain it's a 26" Schwinn rim.

Here is a web site offering that exact tire: https://bobs-bicycles.com/shop/compo...-x-1-3-4-tire/

According to it the rim size is ISO 571.

Good deal, thanks ! The ISO will help me determine if there is a substitute I can use.

The ISO/ETRTO sizes make so much more sense than the hodgepodge of decimal/fractional/metric/letter sizes.

It's giving this newbie a headache. I think I'll get a 26 ×1.75 wheel and tire and call it a day. That's what I replaced the rear wheel with anyhow. I can probably sell the Schwinn wheel down the line.

Is this the stock wheel that came with your bike? A 26in wheel (ISO 559) may not work with the brakes of an ISO 571 bike frame.

The Panaracer Pasela in 28c were my favorite tires I could find when I was looking at the availability of 650c tires. Make sure your frame can fit a 28c wide tire before purchasing.

They may a wire bead version which is a little cheaper.

According to it the rim size is ISO 571.
That is almost certainly a mistake in that listing. 571 ISO is 650c, which were exclusively used on junior road bikes, Tri bikes and funny bikes.
26" MTB wheels are 559 ISO.
There are TONS of 26" 559 tires out there. TONS. Every Walmart has them.

It's a Schwinn S7 26" not a 559 26" size.
