New Thrift Store Find - Age & Info on Vintage Pinarello Record?
I found this at a local thrift store this morning! (I took the profile arm rest off after I photographed it - I took the pics as soon as I got it home; dust, dirt, flat tires & all, so I could show a before & after pics after I cleaned & fixed everything when I sell it.
It has Shimano 600 everything! Derailleurs, brakes, brake levers, shifters, crank, pedals, etc..
It has a small sticker that says Record on one side of a tube & Sport on the other side of the bike, but when I googled Pinarello Record sport - I found the Records, but no Record Sports?
What model is this?
What year is it?
What is it worth?
Any other info would be appreciated.
PS - It has a small zippered holder behind the seat with vintage patches & tube + a cool old cycle hat!
PSS - I almost didn't go to the store today because it's 1/2 price day, but I got there early enough that I was # 4 in line and I got to the bikes section first to be able to spot & grab this - boy am I glad I went today!!
Thanks in advance for any info.

You would think, that after all the years that you have been coming on here asking the same questions over and over, that by now you would be able to figure this stuff out for yourself.
Good luck with your sale.

I couldn't find a serial number anywhere.
The 600 derailleur is suppose to be a good piece (I've had the tri color before), but mine looks like a early/vintage one with the hole in the middle - is it one of the first 600's? Is it any good?
Here is the contents of the little backpack - hat shows logo when brim is flipped up?

How do I know the age of this? I'm sorry if I'm not as smart - I buy & sell all kinds of things & when I don't know something I ask where people do.

What is a vintage Fuji S10 or S12 worth w/the Shimano 600 group set?
Where is it's serial number so I can figure out the age?
Thanks

This is a perfect example of why we cannot create "tribute bikes". There have been several posted on here, some done with the best of intentions, some not. Then, these bikes get out in the real world. The OP or someone like him, buys the forgery as deal and tries to flip it. New buyer discovers that it's not what it was advertised as. Problems ensue.

OP: I'd either strip for parts or sell it as a "Fuji with Shimano parts" and put in the ad in capitals "NOT A PINARELLO!!!" and have interested parties email you so you can tell them in a reply it's "NOT A PINARELLO!!!. Lastly, I'd print off that email and save it incase of a future visit from the Police asking questions.
PS. FYI I sold my last S-12 for $175 in Buffalo two yrs ago.

The fake bennoto is a genuine turd, but your resprayed Fuji has potential! I'd sand off the decals and respray white. Too bad they pulled the head badge. There's two Fuji's near me, both an hour away in opposite directions. One is a "Touring III" for $100 in so so shape, the other a "Del Rey" in good shape for $225.
For goodness sake next time don't buy a vintage bike unless it has forged drops and an integrated derailleur hanger.

The OP's bike does have potential once the decals are taken off.

Definitely not accusing you of selling knock-offs to others either. I'd just reiterate some constructive criticism from the fake Benotto WIW thread about paying more attention to aspects of the frame and much, much less on the frame's decals. pre-1970s bikes are pretty uncommon these days and there's a few things you'll never find on 1970s and later higher-end bikes: Huge, thick lugs, integrated or clamp-on kickstands*, flat/stamped rear dropouts**, big clunky unmarked headsets. If you see that stuff on something with a far more prestigious badge, it's best just to keep on movin'.
* Ok, there are cases where you might see a clamp-on, but if you see one, it's a red flag saying "check for crushed tubes!"
** There are exceptions to the flat dropout rule, but until you're more savvy I'll refrain from going down that rabbithole.
Anyway, yeah, this one at least has a decent finish on the frame despite the fake and poorly placed decals, but it's still a low-end chunky hi-10 or similar bike
This being the 2nd one found at said store, I'd really be wondering if they're honestly not aware.

"What is it worth?" Exactly what you paid for it. If you are able to sell it for a different amount, it will be worth exactly that much. if you paid a premium because of the name on the downtube, you got duped because of your own lack of knowledge. If you are regularly involved with the purchase and sale of thrift store bikes (it sounds like you are), I HIGHLY recommend you start educating yourself on the characteristics that are common with bikes of different levels and vintages.
