Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mavic Pro Carbon SL UST vs. Hunt 50 Tubeless

I'm looking for a mid-depth replacement wheelset with reliable braking and tubeless compatibility. I want to be able to train and race on them and these both seem to fit the bill. Are the Mavic's worth the extra $500?

Would love to hear your thoughts if you have experience with either! Alternative suggestions definitely welcome.

Edit: What about the Reynolds Strike SLG for $1050?! Also tubeless and quite a bit cheaper...

Both great wheels !
Excellent Mavic UST tires included with wheelset is hard to beat

The Hunt wheels I have held their tune since new, 4k mi now

For disc wheels Hunt have the edge maybe, hard to go wrong with either on rim brake

I'm really curious to try out the Yksion tires! This will be my first time going tubeless and I'd definitely like for it to be as painless as possible.

How do you feel the Yksion tires compare to other road racing tires you've ridden?
