BITD I set off for a 7 week tour in Andalucia, Spain, in mid-March. The winter had been a pretty harsh one. Some around town miles on the MTB, but most of my work had been in the gym. After arriving and getting over the jet lag for two days I decided to make the first day a metric century. I nearly died. I was so wiped at the end of the day that I took the next day off. And that was after spending nearly four months and 6,000 miles on the road the previous spring/summer riding from Seattle to Bar Harbor, ME, then down the eastern seaboard to Philly then to Ocean City, NJ.

I’m sitting here in my recliner, drinking coffee, looking out the window, wondering when the rain is going to start, wondering if I’ll be able to squeeze a ride in between showers, wondering if I’ll break 6,000 miles this year, wondering what’s for breakfast, should I oil my chain, should I clean the garage... the pondering, wondering, and questions in my head are without end. I think I better have my wife bring me another cup of coffee.

Edit: Shame that we don’t live closer, we could have ridden to the nearest coffee shop and killed two birds with one stone.

My closest is a Starbucks at 4 miles, but then I’d have to drink coffee that tastes like burnt rectum.

The closest Starbucks also about 4 miles away, but there are also two very good cafés in that radius.

Yep, they're getting old, time for an infusion of new bloods.

Was up somewhat late last night having dinner and chatting with the new neighbors. They seem aight.
I always keep an eye on the weekend forecast and today has been looking like a rain-out for the last few days, so I just planned on skipping it and spending time with the family. Woke up a little early and, sure enough, rain. Made some blueberry pancakes, etc for breakfast and now we need to figure out what to do with ourselves today.

Yes, still here. My only problem with Starbucks coffee is that it_s too weak. Sad! And the nearest coffee shop is 25 km. I have a 8 kilo stash of C. robusta right here at home though.
September weather is such that it is ungodly humid in the first half of the day, and somewhat hotter, and breezier in the afternoon. A month from now the humidity will be gone until May. Woo woo.
A week from now I hope to be gone.

The military commissary where we shop stocks two brands of whole-bean coffee, Starbucks and Peets. Starbucks is entirely superior at a similar price.
And my wife owns a bunch of their shares.

I like Starbucks coffee. I stick with what I know, Pikes Peak or Americana. I think the people who complain about SB must be drinking their other varieties or something. *shrugs*
