Hi Rachel and OldTryGuy,
My post was sardonic, but written in camaraderie with restraint when I wrote: Actually @rachel120, I think we even had a couple of days in the 50’s in February. In fact, I dislike those brief warm spells since I need to carry more stuff to anticpate a wider temperature range that will dissipate so quickly.
And, @OldTryGuy, I did insert your location (SW FL) into my quote of you. BTW, I don’t list mine under my avatar, but it is “D’uh.”
Jim from Boston

BTW, heard that back north from where we moved in 1986 is expecting 12"+ inches of the white stuff. Thinking another 100+ miles for me tomorrow.

This winter isn't goin' down without a fight despite the warmish February. DC cherry blossoms are running late. Last spring I did a ride with wind blowing heavy pollen in my eyes, quite painful, made me consider bike goggles.

I'll take snow, wind, ice, freezing conditions any day over this, it's been like this for over a week, I can count the number of days on my hands where I didn't have to wear a mask this year , and I ride at least 5 days a week.
This is truly depressing
We had a green air pollution day a week ago, ( no mask needed ) , the first green day in a few weeks, I decided I would attempt a century miles that day, keen to get out for a decent ride, it was snowing / raining, and coldish , 0 -4 C ,
After 60 km, my hands were frozen, and my toes , was nice and wet, and I gave up,
but felt so good to have ridden that far without a mask, what a great day !
