I considered both of those but went with the Trek FXS6.

I need to do an update to my thread https://www.bikeforums.net/hybrid-bi...wneastter.html. Back in Oct of 2015 I purchased two (one for me and one for my wife). These have been all over the country in the past few years (living off the back of our motorhome months at a time) as well as daily rides here in North Central Fl. Currently they have around 30,000 miles on each of them. Only things done so far are the normal maintenance issues, tires, chains, cassettes, and brake pads. They have been the best bikes we have ever owned and would recommend them wholeheartedly. My take after all this is that Giant builds a great bike at a great price point. But, still your LBS should be part of the buying decision process. When you start looking at higher end hybrid/flat bar road bikes you would be hard pressed to find a poor one.

They are on about the same level as far as hybrids are concerned. Pick the one feels best when you ride and at the right price point.

I was also going to get the Trek FX S6, but someone posted a picture of the Giant Fastroad Comax 1, and to me it was a better looking bike with similar components, so I ordered one, and it will be here shortly.

Out of all the huybrid bikes, I will say the FastRoad looks the best.

I'm in the same boat, looking to buy a flat bar bike, but none of the shops have the bikes in my size or for that matter the models I'm considering. So, this weekend I will order a bike unseen and unridden on blind faith, slightly nervous but what else can I do? My line-up was the Trek FXS 6, Specialized Sirrus Pro or Expert, and Cannondale Quick. Whether it's a good reason or not the Sirrus is my choice because as best as I can tell they are fairly equal, but only the Sirrus lets me avoid the press fit BB. Might be a dumb reason, we'll see.
