There's a restaurant near my house that has the same tile on the walls in the entryway. It's always a bit disconcerting.

Nothing came today, in spite of the USPS tracking showing it out for delivery. I'll have to wait a little longer to finish this build.

Here's what I got in the mail* this week! (*Correction, the "Liquid Holster" was found and purchased at a local thrift store this week. Everything else turned up in the mail box.)

I have not taken any pics. However I did receive stuff in the post. A brace of wheels, Shimano 600 8-spd cassette hubs w/ Mavic reflex rims, Tri-color 8-spd compatible RD and FD, and indexing Sora shifters. All good stuff I think, but I'll know more after I've actually tried them.

Today brought a crankset with NR rings, a Sloar Special Cinelli stem and an NR bottom bracket with the 70-SSb spindle width. All will be going on the Tommasini Prestige. More to come, watch this space.

My NOS Italian dancing slippers from the 1960s! (eBay seller). The interior stitching and gluing doesn't exactly scream "pride in craftsmanship" but if they hold together, they actually look pretty great on the outside. For $51 shipped, I couldn't resist. Size 45 seems magically about right for my 10.5EE foot

Technically it was this weekend but who cares.
Finally got my Basil Portland front carrier to put on my Gazelle Grand Tourist project bike.
Also got a set of stainless steel Weinmann fenders with Soubitez fender light, a chrome rear rack and a Schwinn (?) TMI headlight and sidewall dynamo. I was mostly interested in the light but at €20 for the whole lot I couldn't resist.
Not sure what I will do with them yet. Except for some slight wear on the white part they are still perfectly fine. Maybe I will keep them as replacement parts or throw them on another bike.
I'm going to gut the headlight and put a B+M Cyo Premium in there. I recon it's exactly the right diameter to fit inside and still retain some of that classic metal and chrome style.
This looks like a fun way to make some clean looking cable guides.
Together with some SON coaxial cable and their new dual pole plug it should work quite well for the next few years.

Oh, I like that Gazelle.
Today's post brought lots of stuff for the Tommasini project. Handlebar, stem, brakes, BB, assorted alternate components. No pics. I was too busy attaching stuff to the bike.

Just a 34T chainring. No big deal. Normally I'd be buying stuff like that, and other semi-consumables I'm expecting, from an LBS. But the LBS's are choosing not to carry stuff sometimes. The bay helps with this.

Nothing to exciting. Some Kool Stop black Modolo pads for my last gen Sachs brakes, a Sugino 38t inner ring (I hope it holds up), a cheapo 11-28 8 speed SRAM cassette and some 42 cm Soma bars.
It is all for a late 80's Frankebike Bianchi that is mostly period correct except for the wear bits.
I'm still waiting on the H Plus Son Archetype rims, DT 14/17/14 spokes, aluminum nipples and some tubeless Sector 28's.
Don't tell anyone, but I'm going to use it a Eroica California.

The frame doesn't fit pass-around game thread came through for me today!
I got this in the mail today from @devinfan.
1985 Strawberry Racing Cycles. It arrived perfectly packed. I can't wait to get this thing built up!

Not many sources for Strawberry Racing Cycles decals...
They offer a set on their site, but they are not period correct. I emailed Andy Newlands, the builder, about some information on the bike and he told me it should have these:
I love the look because I have always wanted a black bike with yellow tape, cables, and saddle, but I still have to do the hard part of sourcing them.
I have read where the owner of the pictured bike got them, so I am going to try there, but supposedly they only sell to manufacturers.
I'm going to get it built and ride it, and when I get time to source the decals, I'll put those on it. It has some dark red cross-hatches on the stays that have "Strawberry" in negative space, but it is really hard to see in pictures. Definitely pretty stealthy!

And yes, there are other colors. Most common is black of course. Then there are red, blue and gold (very cool). And strangely, it seems the hardest to find is the polished silver version of the Excellence rim.

Holy crap, absolutely brilliant score, very jealous you lucky man!
Also I would encourage you to start a separate post on decals, many here have tackled this.

The Campag Superlegerra pedals for the Tommasini arrived today. Not bad to get them in less than 10 days from Poland. Pics will be in the build thread shortly.
