BB UN 40 compatible

I have another project I started on and today was finally able to get the BB-UN40 out of the shell. PB blaster did the trick. It is 68 1.37-24 with a length of 113. The only BB 40 replacement I have found is a used one. I want to know if a BB26 68 1.37-24, length of 113 is compatible. It is for a Tiagra 9 speed crank set on a Fuji Ace. Thanks for any info regarding this issue.

PS.

This is also compatible:https://www.universalcycles.com/shop...9&category=268 in 113mm length.

It will have smoother and longer lasting bearings.

Isn't 9-speed Tiagra, Hollowtech?

Depends on which model. Tiagra FC-4400 is a 9-speed square taper crank. Tiagra FC-4500 is a 9-speed HTII crank. Apparently Tiagra skipped HT1 entirely.

Ah, thanks. Interesting how the trickle-down plays out sometimes!
