Need readers sports sunglasses!
I am 57 and need some sports sunglasses for cycling with readers at the bottom. I saw them recently at a bike shop. Is there a brand y'all recommend? AND, do you like the lenses that change color with the sun?

I have Smith's and Coyote readers I like. One brown and one gray lenses for different light conditions. I bought because both marked down. Paid good money for a pair of Photochromic but not readers. The dont really get that dark but great for trail riding.

Not cheap but the prescription lenses are separate from main lenses. You can replace the prescription without buying new glasses.
Rudy Project. These are clear photo chromatic.
This is how dark they get.

I wore tinted bifocal safety glasses while cycling for several years. Cheap enough to try out and see if the style works for you. I finally broke down and spent the bucks on tinted progressive addition Nike sport glasses a year and a half ago. Wonderful for riding but the online bifocal safety glasses worked well enough for quite a while. When its dark I just wear my Buddy Holly-framed prescription glasses.

Check out Dual Eyewear. I’ve been using them for years (with non-reader prescription inserts not from Dual).
As as for the photosensitive lenses I love them because I do some rides that involve riding in both the dark and the daylight and I can wear them in both conditions. However I’m not sure if Dual still offers them...

I have virtually the same pair. I need both distance and reading correction (The later to read the computer and cue sheets.) so I got bifocals cut into the inserts. My vision is likely to change, which is why I went with inserts. Mine also darken in bright light, but I don' think they get as darks as yours. Not cheap for sure, but I got an end of the year deal on the frames and lenses. Paid for everything with my HSA dollars.
But to the OP's question: If all you truly need is a reading strip, I believe Rudy Project makes them. Tifosi also does. The latter will be less expenses and still be of good quality.

I got glasses from a local industrial safety supply store. With cheaters for reading, they were $7.00. The cheaters come in a range of strengths and the glasses come in dark, smoke (indoor/outdoor) and clear. They are wrap around style for great coverage. I've been using the original glasses for a few years and they are sturdy and look just like super expensive cycling glasses. I am VERY particular so any wave or imperfection in my sight line would be a problem for me but these have none. I bought back ups should one break but so far never needed them.

I had two RXs when I went into the shop. One RX for progressives across the entire range and one bi-focal Rx for reading and computer use. On the advice of the eyeglass shop, I skipped the progressives. They were concerned about me riding a bike in city traffic without having any previous experience with progressives. What they ended up doing was taking the distance part from the progressive Rx and the reading part from bi-focal Rx. (I had done this before with some cheapo Chinese Rx glasses I got in and that didn't last very long.) Worked out well since they are the only two corrections I really need for riding. Also saved me a few $$.
Definitely happy with the Rudy Projects.

I needed wrap around glasses as wind makes my eyes tear up. SportRx did a progressive lens on a wrap around frame with a medium tint. Was expensive but have never regretted it.

I tried those with my photochromatic glasses. I found a pain to clean with sweaty lenses on a ride. Ended up losing one. I just carry a small pair of readers or just zoom out my phone.

Greetings
i wear progressive glasses when cycling and have no problem riding in traffic, riding in groups on open roads, and no problem reading the data display on my Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt. I have a pair of Oakley glasses fitted with my progressive prescription.
I purchased these from an online optimist, Sport Rx. I have no affiliation with this company except being a very pleased customer. Sport Rx provided excellent service, fast delivery, very fair discount prices, and the glasses were perfect. definitely worth checking out.

I like these Liberty Sport glasses from Lenscrafters. I got my first pair at Kaiser, but they stopped carrying them, so now I go to Lenscrafters. These are blended tri-focals, but fixed shade density. I don't know if they make Transition type lenses. My first pair had black frames, these are bronze. Dorky picture, but you get the idea. They cater to moto type riders, but work great for us pedal pushers too.
