Thermax Disc Wheel Cover, Ever hear of it?
Has anyone ever seen one of these? I've only ever seen 2 maybe 3 of these. When I was working in a shop around '90 a Triathlete wanted one so when he ordered his I ordered one to check it out. They were kind of interesting.
They were custom made for the type of wheel, speeds and freewheel/cassette. The outer circumference is based on the IRD of the rim you are going to mount it on, if you bought for a tubular it would't easily go on a clincher, and the center hole was once size for FW and a bit bigger for cassette. They attach by mean of 'Chicago' style fasteners. OH IIRC clear and smoke were the only colors.

I remember those. Seems the one I saw was a blueish clear.

Really? No one ever saw one of these? It must have a been a very short lived item.

I don't remember these but I do recall a similar Lightning wheel cover made from fibreglass. The fabric Uni-Disk wheel covers dominated the market for aero wheel covers in my area.. They were less than half the price and were "one size fits all'. Nashbar offered generic versions of the Uni-Disk, at even lower pricing.
