Whenabouts were you in Corvallis/Oregon? Probably not before the bridge was built . This is the Harris covered bridge, down by Harris, west of Philomath/Corvallis, around mile 13/14 on the map in my earlier post. There is another covered bridge, in Corvallis on the Campus Way bike path, west of the Oregon State campus.
Went for a shorter version of the same trail today. Only did 15+. Ran the De Rosa. Some of the same pictures but with a different bike. Lighting was nice to day too. Found some other pic opportunities.

Went to OSU but lived in Albany. My wife is a Duck. My Father-in-Law was born there and just died about a month ago. We will be there in September to take his ashes up to Willamette Cemetery for full honors services. He was 98 and was in the Navy, served on the USS Frost. They sunk 6 U boats in WW II. He will be missed.

Fun to see the bikes are getting some use.

gomango It does look fabulous! Did you do touch up paint or did squirtdad ? Wondering what the color is. Looks like Ferrari Red.
Noticed that the wheelbase is a bit longer than the Pinarello. Feels smoother too. Maybe its the Tubulars. They are the same except the Pin is clincher.

I'm a hack.
When I was still riding "fast" road bikes, that De Rosa was a rocketship.
Great climbing bike as well if I recall.
btw Perhaps pm jiangshi. He'll probably have a bottle or two of the correct paint on a shelf somewhere.

Today, I ended my longest break from bike riding in close to a decade, since I fractured my elbow a few weeks ago in a bike crash. I'm at the point where I need to mobilize the joint, and try and get my range-of-motion back as my body continues to put the joint back together (hopefully in the right order ).
I took my '86 Schwinn to work and back, so not that entertaining or photogenic. Not that comfortable, either, but it gets a little better each day. Even the ride home was a little better than the ride in, as I continue to learn what to do- and what not to do- to ease pain in the healing elbow.
Picture of the bike from a better day a little while ago, before the injury.

This is Spaghetti Legs family beach week in N.C. I packed up the Breakaway for its first road trip. I lucked out today as there is rain pretty much everywhere except for on our little island. A few sprinkles but the brutal heat was diminished and the winds tamped down for a nice 26 miler.
Aquarium closed for the duration. Would have caused heartbreak in years past but kids are older now.

I think I need a real camera for this thread
...... continuing the open spaces theme.....
Not Issaquah today. Hang a right toward and thru Hobart.
Skip on Hwy18 -
A Hobart landmark.
Open spaces in th West near mountain ranges and large State and National Parks, likely means area of clear cut nearby. Keep ‘em small & rotated as a land resource.
Gladed grove of ferns across a tall, north facing hillside (look deep).... ahhh ... before popping back into civilization and traffic.
oh, the lettering on th bill of th cap says ‘eddy merckx’ - he was a famous racer. A man eater - The Cannibal -
edit: hope he is at — TdF. Go Eddy.
re-edit: yeah the bike - a turn of the millennia (just a few after) - wannabe Merlin Extralight - sold as a private label by Merlin’s largest western dealer = Excel Sports Boulder. Lots of unknown (to me) about Ti tube similarities with some of Merlin’s models on at least 2 Macau models. This is a Cirrus, 59 cm. Campa10 triple in silver.
Hourglass stays don’t show.

Nice day for a jaunt around Lake Sammamish on the Bianchi. I took these two pics on the SRT on the final bit of the return leg.

the big nose makes me a possible relative.
But none pictured have a waxed cotton utility vest + integrated pack.
Love your East Coast pics.
But truth be spoken = I'm a rigatoni man myself!

The rides to work each day seem to be helping my arm flexibility back. Today's ride felt a little bit closer to normal. Plus, I gotta take advantage of this beautiful summer weather.
We should be getting some monsoon storms to occasionally cool things down this time of year, but there's been nothing at all so far. The landscape is looking pretty crispy.

I had to get rolling on the '76 Moto GT at 5am when it was only 86 degrees outside. 21.5 miles up to my favorite area along the shoreline of Lewisville Lake north of DFW. Easy access from the house. The crescent moon and Venus were nice company this morning.

Went up Snoqualmie Pass/Iron Horse Trail yesterday. Perfect temp, clear skies, empty trail. The tunnel was wet and cold, got to try out my new dynamo light and it was really nice compared to the little blinky I used the last time.
Up we go, ho ho ho!
then in the tunnel with the dynamo!
Oh Oh Oh, down we go!
Over the bridge to go with the flow.
Met some folk who know of Cino!

Ha! I was up there yesterday too, @etherhuffer
Here’s a collection of pictures I have taken in the last couple of weeks since my last ride posting..
I recently removed the ’79 SR RD from my Bruce Gordon and put it away in a box. It had been in constant use since it was new and it was really starting to show it’s age.
The new one is Campy at least and it shifts beautifully through all gear combinations.
Little by little, the old bike is continues to morph and change which evokes mixed feelings for me.

I did a moonlight ride up to Paradise at Mt. Rainier during the full moon. Short in miles but it left big impressions on me. There’s an extensive write up on it in the photo description on Flickr if you’d like to read it.

More than a few trips up to the pass this month. The Iron Horse trail has become my 'default' ride these days..

One of my favorite ways to return from the pass is to ride the FS roads:
Old Snoqualmie Pass Road > Tinkham Road and ride the McClellan Butte Trail from it’s trailhead back up to the Iron Horse Trail.

No riding today. Brush fires within 20 miles plus humidity is s bad air quality recipe.
