Always wear a helmet. I tend to get more respect from motorists when I've got my gear on.

+1

But, I do have an 11 month old at home, and I often worry about her growing up with a braindead lump of flesh for a father. So, I put it on without question.

Always.

This has little, if anything, to do with a safe commute.

I use it all the time. I've strapped a blinky to it, so it's even better.

Do I commute safely? Yes, thankfully no bodily harm thusfar.
Do I wear a helmet? Yes, everytime.
However...
If my skull is protected by a helmet, and I was injured...from a little road rash on my elbow to my leg being amputated when run over by a train I would not consider my commute "safe" that day.

So what... did you join to spam your advertisements? Because your two posts don't paint you as much more than a spammer.

Always wear my helmet for commutes, I try my best to have a safe commute - but as we all know, some factors cannot be controlled - I certainly try though

I ride in my birthday suit. Perfectly safe since my pale skin practically glows. Everyone avoids me except for those cars flashing red and blue lights at me.

God I am sick of these lame threads.
Everyone should just start responding in the most bizarre manner they can think of to amuse me.

Yes, I wear a helmet. I have a flex mirror stuck to the side. Don't know how I rode all these years without one. The mirror that is. Once I started using one I could'nt believe what a difference it makes. But even more important, I try to follow the same rules of the road as cars. It's the law by the way. But I try to set a positive impression of bicyclists. I occasionally see others blowing thru red lights/ stop signs etc. Riding on the wrong side of the street. All this does is give everyone else a bad rap. I just take my time, and seeing how I ride in heavy traffic alot I want to get home safely. I have three headlights up front, and four blinkies in the back for my 4am commute.

I didn't ride with one until I got knocked cold after a crash. Now when I crash, I'm awake to ensure that nobody jacks my bike.

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

Nope - I ride slow because I am old... It isn't going to be failling off the bike that gets me, my vote is on the boa...
