Studs to slicks

This is the worst year ever as it pertains to procrastination. I just switched from studs to my warm season slick tires yesterday! When do you all switch and have you ever let it go this long? I feel like I'm on a new bike. So fast!

I don't actually use studs, so this is one place where people can't say I procrastinate. If I see ice I am actually comfortable riding across it without studs, although that took awhile and won't happen for everyone. At least one person I know asked "What do you do for pea gravel? Would narrow tires help? I keep falling on it."

I do thump into the pavement about once a winter when I hit ice covered with snow and don't know it is there, but it seems a lot less bother than all the trade offs, changing tires, expense, some loss of speed with studs.

I waited until I was sure that there would be no more snow.

I think it was early april when I switched mine.

I didn't care that they were slow. I just wanted to save some wear and get rid of the noise...
