Brompton Electric Question
Has anyone heard about the status of Bromton electric getting UL certification? I heard they were trying a while ago and haven’t heard any news. They stopped selling them in NYC once they passed the new laws about UL bikes. I found out it’s not the battery that’s certified, it’s the whole bike that gets the certification.
Also curious if the new Honda motocompo is UL certified. I don’t see anything on their site about it.

US Brompton let me add one to my cart but TBF I did not try checking out to see whether there are any states not allowing their sale.

UL has standards for the batteries, the bike electric systems and battery chargers. If NYC is smart, they'll require all three.
If I had to pick one, the standard for battery packs is the most important. If implemented correctly, it alone could prevent all fires.
