Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where was that?

When we were camping in the BWCA one year, we woke to find a huge pile of poop just outside of our campsite. There were six of us among three tents and everyone was a-twitter with the fact that a bear had wandered in so close overnight and crapped on our site.

....and then someone found some smudged TP in the bushes nearby.

No one ever fessed up to it. (Wasn't me, honestly.)

That wasn’t me rolling my eyes that was more of I wish. That is a good price on that Gilet but can’t do it right now.

If only you had a rocking chair and bench to sell...

understood - sales don't always come my way at the right time, either.

It took me more than a year with my vest to figure out that I could unzip from the bottom and magically have much easier access to my rear jersey pockets. i R dum.

We should have our club kit (yeah, I said it, MoAlpha) in a few weeks. Hopefully the vest has the two-way zip, but I can't remember if it does. If not for the fact that I'll have to shell out for the new kit shortly, I'd be more temped to splurge on the Rapha sale.

My club "gilet" has only a one-way zip, but I have a fancy, print-free, wind jacket with slits in the back to access the jersey pockets. They close with little magnets, which stick to everything and are near impossible to use.

Naw. You just didn't realize something so simple could make like that much easier. As MoAlpha says, magnets and weird **** just complicate matters.

I was thinking more along the lines of rehabbing old stuff and making it shabby-chic.

A guy that used to work for my former employer was a Cannonball Run record holder. He stopped in to the shop every now and then. He (Alex Roy) was a bit of a character.

I had a similar click on the left pedal - I just disassembled it, made sure it was reasonably clean and nothing catastrophic was about to happen, and put it back together. Now the click is gone.

This does remind me that I need to adjust the FD high limit screw, the outer cage just kisses the inside of the crank arm when you perform a full shift. One trim click gets rid of it, and I only remember that it does it when I'm out on the road shifting from the little ring to the big one.

The other day, I ordered two bearings from Amazon for the rear Assault. They arrived today while the kids and I were out on a walk this morning. A couple hours later, as I was putting the little girl down for her nap, I got a text and an email, with a photo of an envelope on my doorstep, notifying me that my order had been delivered. WTF?

Went downstairs, opened the door, and there was the envelope. Opened it up. One bearing. Went to the table with the envelope from earlier in the day. One bearing. I guess that none of the warehouses had more than one bearing, but jeez does that seem ridiculous.
