1x12 for my Rove ST
Trying to get my head around what my options might be, not being very mechanically inclined. My 2019 Rove ST has the stock Rival group it came with, 1x11. Wouldn't mind getting a little more low end for where I ride, but don't want to give up any top end either(I have a 38t in the front now as it is).
The Deore M6100 drivetrain comes in around only $300--that sounds pretty sweet! But would it work with my wheel, brakes, shifter, etc etc?

I'm not seeing any examples of the M6100 on a drop bar bike either. What do I need to look at to determine what 1x12 setup will work on this bike for as little outlay as possible? Can I really get this done for a few hundred bucks?

You'll need a new rear wheel with XDR or microspline freehub ($200+) and friction bar end shifters ($50?). I think the Sensah Empire 12 ($100) speed brifters might work as well?
The other option is if you have a long cage rival derailer you can probably fit 11-46 rear

I think I have a long cage RD, at least it appears to be the longest of the three options on the SRAM website: https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/rd-riv-1-a2
Here's a pic of mine--looks long cage, yes?

Interesting, thanks. Yeah, no bar-ends for me - if I can't do it w a brifter I'll skip it!

Cool, yeah, doesn't need to be 1x12. I'm fine with 1x11 just wanting a little more low end so the 11-46 sounds like a simpler/cheaper solution.

I run a 10-50 garbaruk cassette on my rig. Combined with a 42t chainring it gives me about a 23 gear inch granny. Also way lighter than the original SRAM 10-42 that came stock.
I can't post links or images but it is the first result in a google search of garbaruk

From everything I've read, you should be able to run an 11-46T cassette with the Rival long cage. I plan on doing just that but am waiting for my new wheels to arrive. Will be using the SunRace 11-46.

Received my wheels today. So... the SRAM Rival derailleur definitely clears the cassette and the b-screw is not maxed out either. Early indications are good. I have yet to index and ride but it moves through the cassette just fine. Was worried about the chain length but my 114 link chain also works. Will be replacing it with a 118 link chain as I think a couple more links may be better.

And voilą! Sunrace 11-46 works flawlessly with the SRAM Rival 1. Same chain too. My LBS had this on and dialed in minutes.
