Rear cassette wear rate

I'm new to cycling and I purchased a new road bike. I tend to forget to cut power while shifting gears. My bike came with Shimano 105 component set. I noticed a couple of cassette cog-teeth have chipped off. Is this normal?

You may want to take a closer look. The more modern cassettes have teeth of varying profiles/sizes to aid shifting.

Gears are made to shift under full load.

I did not know either of these statements. Now I don't feel like I bought a lemon
