Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What happened to my post???

I posted a thread yesterday titled "I witnessed a bicycle theft today" in the road cycling forum. I checked the thread last night at around 2am and it had 3 pages of replies. Now the thread is gone. Was this post deleted by one of the mods? If so, why?

I suppose it got too far off topic. Too bad, it was interesting.

i didn't realize posts had to be "on topic" in this forum... but i guess it depends on who you are.

pcad can post about his dog all day, or someone else starts a thread about cars, and those don't get moved/axed?! mods??

It was bringing out the trolls and the last straw was a racist slur/name drop made by a forum member.

It was "off-topic" from the OP Re: Bike theft.

I actually witnessed that thread get stolen by a group of 6-7 kids. They were acting suspicious and then all of a sudden, one of them grabbed the thread and ran.

Guy saw a bike get stolen, reported it, certain people got fussy over him being specific of the minority, no racism intended. End of story.

Yup. Once the actual racists came out, that thread was pretty much sunk.

It evolved into a cesspool and was removed. Lets try not to rehash it, it was ugly.

clearly reporting "do-gooder" actions will not be permitted on this forums. complaining is the only way to keep threading going...

notice how your thread complaing about the deletion of the previous thred is still going?
