Hi,

I am looking for narrow width shoes.

I currently have the M064 (offroad shoe). I wear in 44 but they are too large and not exactly my size. I get hot spot when riding. I use a small shim to level my feet that tend to go inward thus putting more weight on my big toe. It helps but it isn't ideal.

I want to switch to SPD-L and go with road shoes. I am eyeing the R171, I found it disponible for 43 and 44 (I wear between 43-44).
I am looking for more models to look for. My budget is around 200$ but I might spend more than 200$ (CAD) if it is REALLY worth it.

I've heard Sidi make narrow shoes too but they are not really available local (montreal).

I bought Giro shoes because they're narrower. I have had Shimano shoes and they are wider than Giro.

They used to make a narrow in the Genius, but it looks like no more.

I switch to an S Works which is the only other shoe I could find in a real NARROW size. (Not "this runs narrow") I am 13B/A so "runs narrows" is still way too wide.

I think this is what they are now calling S Works 6.

Really good shoes and worth the money IMO. I thinks they will last for a long time.

Sidi discontinued the narrow width shoes a few years ago. I was able to find a pair on Amazon, but they basically don't exist anymore. Giro shoes do tend to run narrow, I've got a pair that I use for mountain biking. Shimano shoes are about the widest standard width of the major brands. I also wear a 13A/47, and the Giro is just narrow enough for me, any Shimano I tried were laughably wide.

Beyond the marginally narrower Giro's there's basically no affordable options. You can get S-works or some other custom shoe. I'd love to try Bont, but there's basically nowhere to try them.

FYI R171 are kinda wide in the toe box. I'm generally a D Med with, I sized down a 1/2 size with mine than I'd normally take because they otherwise felt sloppy up front. My other shoes are Giro Empires, which do run pretty narrow, as others are recommending, maybe give that model or brand a try? The full lacing maybe give you a bit more latitude than with other closure systems too.

I find the Giro empire lace ups narrow enough but I think the Lake shoes are even narrower.

Thanks I will make a couple of phone calls. Hope local shops carry some Giro!
I like the look of the Trans E70 HV but it might be a bit expensive. The APECKX II HV looks nice too!
Those with lace are interesting but I have not tried any yet. Any suggested or preferred model? Always easier to ask for a specific model but I will still try what is available.

Edit: the empire look dope! What is the difference between the (3) models?

Edit:Edit: SLX is lighter and probably far from my reach! The empire ACC is 275$USD, a wooping 385$ CAD!

Check out performancebike or nashbar too if you have an idea of your size and you can order online, they both often close out last year models of Giro. I got my Empires for almost half price from Performance.

I've heard that Giro and Fizik shoes are on the narrow side. Rapha as well, on account of being made by Giro.
