Two, with a no-move day in Yaak to ride into the wilderness and s short last day to get back so I can get the bike to REI for packing and shipping. I am also doing another very short day so I can set up camp and do some hiking in an old growth forest. Some dirt sections, including that first big climb to ID, the Route of the Hiawatha trail and the NorPac Trail, so it's a bit deceiving. Longest day could be over 90, depending on whether I get a motel room at Seeley Lake or continue on down the road to a state park that has hiker/biker spots with cyclist-related amenities, including a repair stand and power for charging things.

Your wheels are both wider and accomodate different tires - wider tires tend to have lower pressures. I hope you recall the days of 130 psi in 19mm tires (ow ow ow ow ow)
My carbon wheels are decidedly old skool... much narrower than is common in 2019. I should upgrade, hmm.....

Im going to be attempting a Century tomorrow. It’s the same ride I did last year on my birthday. It starts in Santa Clarita. I was unable to find a reasonable rate in hotel ir someone to share cost of said hotel. So.... I have to get up at 4:30 to get ready and be on road by 5:15. I do have someone carpooling with me. I’m a bit leary of my shoulder and fact my longest ride in the past month was about 30 miles. They will have support cars. So I will have an out if shoulder becomes extremely uncomfortable

Hey guys... Sad to report I'm forced to come back to this community, weighed in at 210 this morning. :-( I blame weeks of extremely long work days, lots of fast food and beer, and sugary energy drinks I've been consuming to keep me awake through those long work hours. It's been a stressful first couple months into the year, with working 80+ hour weeks and the planning of our wedding for July (who knew a small wedding would have so many details to address) and my better half isn't into cycling (she's a runner, whom I'm trying to convert - all while she's trying to convert me to running - I did it for awhile but got tired of very quickly). All that said, I've decided to push myself to lose at least 30 pounds by July 4th (we're tying the knot on the 14th). I still have my Trek which I recently dusted off and have been riding around the block every couple days, and spinning indoors on the stationary to ease myself back into biking after such a long hiatus - I'm not sure how ready I am but I'm aiming for a 50-mile ride this after noon, i'll probably be slow but so long as I don't give up I couldn't care less if I ride at 8 or 18 mph.

This weekend I did my first century since LAST April 7, 2018. The Paul Hulse Century is run by Positive Pedalers. It starts in Santa Clarita and goes to Ventura and then back. I got stung by a bee in the Orange grove area about 20 miles into day. First time I've been stung by a bee while on bike. I had terrible foot issues thanks to poor choice in shoes. I forgot just how bad this one pair of cycling shoes hurt my feet. Considering my riding of late has mostly been my flat 6 mile each way commute, I did OK. I've never been fast and yet, I matched my fastest moving pace of 14.1 mph which I've managed now 3 times. If I had been in better shape, not as heavy and wore different shoes, I think I could have really done great. All in all it was a good ride. I attempted to rescue desert tortoise that wandered onto HWY 126. I also thought of PJ often as this was his area. Flowers were everywhere.

Congrats! Sounds like you had a great ride. Yes the flowers and scenery are amazing here right now. Riding on Sunday in Anaheim Hills, we had a view of the green/gold Chino Hills with snow-capped Mt. Baldy in the background.

it CAN improve your active recovery but have to push yourself running pace to do so. So more pain on top of pain, yah it sucks but sometimes a nice switch up for me to drop some #s

I'm convinced I can tell the difference... they're definitely not as stiff as my AL bars. pretty comfy though.

Yesterday I attempted the Joshua Tree 55. I had thought it would feel similar to GMR to Village. I was wrong. I ended up turning around after climbing about 1900 feet at the 12.2 mile mark. Wind was starting to be factor. My shoulder was hurting. Climbing seems to put a bit more stress on it. Throw in my feet were killing me. I wore my Fizik Donna R5B shoes. They are my only road shoes currently. Carbon reinforced nylon outsole. When I walk I feel the sole flex. My big toes are still black and blue under nail from wearing my LG shoes on Paul Hulse Century. Those shoes were shipped to a lady in Indiana who is doing AIDS Lifecycle.
I have ordered Sidi Wire 2 Carbon shoes in Matte Grey. I have question for @TrojanHorse. How did you figure out it was a change in pedal system that would fix feet issues? How did you decide on Look vs Shimano SPD-SL? Is there a difference?

It was beautiful. TOUGH tho. I threw in towel. Between my feet, shoulder, lack of riding and weight gained...plus wind kicked up...I was not having fun snd was miserable. My friends were all way ahead of me.

I don't know if my speed plays were getting worn, but they started rocking side to side in addition to the normal easy rotation (I had light action). I went from 1 bike to 3 over the course of a month or two and balked at paying $200 each for a couple more pedals. My wife had an old set of 105 pedals that she didn't like, so I tried those. They were alright, although I somehow managed to strip the threads on my left crank arm with those things, they unthreaded themselves a bit.
I think the actual answer is that Look Keo red cleats are 9 degrees of float and shimano yellow are only 6 deg. And Keo pedals are not terribly expensive - even the fancy carbon ones are only about $125, so I bought a pair to try them.
I'm not as committed to the red cleats anymore (although I do use them outdoors and use the gray ones inside), but now I have Keo pedals on all 3 of my bikes.
I think that the flat pedal platform (same with shimano) DEFINITELY helped me with my ongoing hotspot problem that I got all the damn time with my speedplay pedals, usually after 60 + miles.
I do think the shimano pedals are easier to clip into and they're very functionally similar to Keo, so I wouldn't lose any sleep at all about either set up. I do miss being able to stomp on the pedal and go, the look cleats are a bit more finicky but other than that I like them a lot.
ETA - the "walkable" speedplay cleats are freaking $60!!! And they squeak while riding! Shimano and look cleats are about $20 and don't squeak. They do wear out faster but not 3x.

I have the walkable cleats and no squeaking.
I looked at cleat position and think I have cleat too far to inside of foot putting too much of foot off pedal to outside.
going to try moving cleat other way and try. I put my other orthotics in that have metatarsal pad. They also seem to spread out shoe on sides a bit.
My Sidi’s have arrived but they are at shop in Costa Mesa. I may need her to ship to me as I have ride to Solana Beach this Saturday with Team OC and other ALC peeps
