Good morning, I have inherited a trek 20 youth MTN bike I am marrying with a trek 20 BMX bike. At the the moment I am unable to remove a final piece of the chain case. With the pedal crank removed here is what I am seeing. I do not feel like I need to pull the whole assembly with the bearings. It appears as if a tool with 4 half circles at 12, 3, 6 & 9 will remove this ring. I think with this ring removed the the chain case will slide off. Thoughts? Look forward to some feedback.

I bought one of the kids a bike in JULY and the bike is still at least 4-5 months away so I have opt to recycle these two.

I've been scouring the web without any luck, still not able to post pictures yet here. I reached out to Park Tool for some ideas.
