Late 80's Olmo Sintex in SLX tubing - CL find
Live in central Florida and had to drive to Atlanta on business so was checking some of the CL ads up there and came across this bike. The tubing stickers have long fallen off but when I got it apart I saw the ribbing on the inside of the tubing from inside the BB shell for SLX.
Also, came with Sachs Ergo shifters which after some research I learned have Shimano gear ratios - when I picked it up from him I asked if the Campy shifters worked with the Shimano derailers and he said it was perfect and on the stand back home before disassembly it did shift great... imagine my surprise! Learned something new!

I've been MIA from the forum for a while - sorry all.. I'll post some updates in Before/After as well... I changed jobs and we moved so just been a lot to do...
My plan for this one is to build with a fully Campy Chorus grouppo I have down to the hubs - I snap a pic of the grouppo this afternoon if I can.
I have a Brooks Cambium saddle in the brown with matching bar tape and gold braided Jagwire cables.

This will be a fun project. The sachs stuff was good; I used it on my racing bike.

Did you keep the Sachs Ergo shifters? Great build. I have a 1989 Olmo Sintex as well that I got back in the early '90s. It had been resprayed to hang in a store window in New Mexico. Horrible colors. I raced it a year as it was and then got it repainted to restore it. Still ride it 30 years later. Great bike.

Awesome looking build! I always lusted after the pearl white Olmo in the LBS back in the mid-80's. Alas, it was too much for my teenage budget.
