Had a great time on Sunday at the monthly Velo-Retro Ride in Pasadena, CA.
Couldn't have asked for nicer weather or a friendlier bunch of cyclists to ride with!

Velo-Retro: Rose Bowl Ride
I would not show up at 11. More like 10:30.
Never made it to one, wish it was the second or third Sunday.

Until a few years ago I lived just off of Ave. 64, a few blocks from that ride. Wasn't into C&V then, but sure wish I lived there now. And I miss that weather.
Looks like a great group to ride with. Thanks for the photos.

Reminds me of my college days at Occidental.

I SUSPECT that there may be a conflict due to the Rose Parade and some little ballgame or such...but Chuck may have that all figured out.
Too bad it's the one day that I'll actually be IN Pasadena on a first Sunday in a long time, but I'd have to borrow a bike/helmet/gear...oh well...

The Rose Parade will run on Monday, January 2, 2017.
I think the Rose Bowl gets played that day too.
So, Chuck's ride would be safe on 1/1/2017
This has happened before, and it goes as scheduled.
The old ClassicRendezvous archives are now offline, hopefully someone will figure out how to port them to a modern software and server.

That would indeed be a fun event, and any of my road bikes would qualify.

I need to do this ride... someday. Getting a bike there from my current location will be a chore. I still have friends who ride in the area, though.

As John E. Stated that both events are on Monday.
I'm there for the ride.
I won't be riding a qualifying bike but close enough...old frame/modern parts.

The ride will be going on this Sunday, the 1st. I'll be there with my Centurion Semi-Pro, rocking my Christmas present, a new black and orange wool jersey. :-) (Unless it's raining, then it's fendered touring bike time)
If anyone from the San Diego area has thought about doing this ride, but was put off by the drive -- I've got room for a passenger, and an extra slot on the bike rack. Just pm me if you're interested.

Making a point to do this one in 2017. Looks like fun and it's not far from me at all.
Thanks to the OP for the pics and the reminder.

Looks like rain is heading to southern California...I know the ride is still on rain or shine but it's a deal breaker for me
