Wrapped Cannondale frames?

So i work in manhattan as a courier and i always see the guys who have most of the time a Cannondale hybrid of some sort with the frame of the bike being wrapped in what looks like some plastic gummy type material and still having the logo of Cannondaleon the outside. I was looking on Cannondale website to see if they were sold that way but could not find anything and never have seen it before. If this is like a wrap to protect your bike frame im interested. Pls help been wondering this for a while .

People cover their frames in NYC to help prevent theft and also to help prevent damage to the bike and because bikes sit outside a lot getting neglected and abused instead of brought inside and taken care of. Sadly NY has a lot of bike theft so making a bike look unattractive is pretty key. People do it with all sorts of bikes not just CrackandFails. ESI makes a Silicon tape that would be perfect for the job. However you might ask in a NYC Subforum if one such exists and see what other folks do. Me personally I would use a full complement of Pitlocks and a quality lock and probably just repaint the frame with some more durable paint.

Yeah. I live in Philly. My commuting/touring bike has a good number of cosmetic blemishes from being liked to sign poles and bike racks.
