Help from a Western PA forum member!

Long time lurker, first time C&V poster

On the suggestion of one of the respected members here, I decided to ask for help from anyone in PA, or PA-bound- there's a 1992 Basso Astra on the 'Bay that would be a perfect match for my girlfriend, but the seller (a salvage dealer?) won't box/ship. What's one to do but ask for help?

If you or anyone you know would be willing to help facilitate a transaction (meaning pick it up, box and ship to Orlando FL, all at my expense), give me a shout! I appreciate the help.

Wrong part of PA for me to be a likely candidate, but if it is worth round trip gas money to/from Wilkes-Barre for you, and nobody else jumps in, let me know.

Although, someone from Ohio would be closer.

hmm, yea, check with Ohio-ans or specify western pa. That's about 5 hours away for us folks in Philly and on the eastern side, otherwise I'd help.

I won't give away any names, but I thought of at least one place (in another forum) with a map of users. My search revealed that there is at least one person with C&V connections that is nearer that area than I am... So, someone may be willing to volunteer yet.

Would a moderator be willing to modify the title to Western PA???

Yes, if a mod would be willing to change the title of the thread, that'd be great. Western PA/Cleveland area instead of just PA... my bad.

All I ask is that it's not too big of an inconvenience to whoever may end up helping me; I wouldn't request someone to drive across the state or anything. If you wanna PM me a name of someone closer I could hassle, that'd be nice, but not necessary.

If it was in my neck of the woods, I'd be glad to pick it up for you - but... still over 200 miles away. Hopefully someone nearer will be able to assist.

I really appreciate it, all. It's too bad this thing is way out in the middle of nowhere.

I think I'm going to try to convince the seller to ship, or at least ask them if they can get to a bike shop for a pack/ship estimate. I don't know how I would possibly go about asking someone to drive ~100 miles for me, someone they don't even know...

That said, if anyone wants to volunteer who is around the area, or who really doesn't mind a nice (paid for) drive, it'd be most excellent!

I've had dealings with this 'silent' member before. If someone can help him out, please do.
