Tire sealant?
What's best in tire sealant? It'll be for some 21 mm tubulars, with Presta valves or course. Last time I tried it was toute Tufo: Tufo tires, Tufo tape, Tufo sealant. I was very disappointed, since it essentially did not seal, except in the valve where I could not add air.

In these forums? IDK, Unless a peer reviewed test, it's largely an opinion..
You can get stuff for car tubes for less than if packaged for bikes....
why were you unhappy with what you used?

I use Stan's in my tubulars with latex tubes. It worked on two of three flats as a fix... may have had some preventative effect as well. I give it a warm recommendation.

I bought Slime tubes in the hopes it would stop my rash of goathead flats, no luck. I have been using Truckers Cream in a tubeless set up with no goathead flats, it even sealed a small sidewall cut, it does tend to dry out quicker than others from what I understand.

Other than that, I've prevented flats by being vigilant for glass.

you seem to describe universal issues with liquid sealant
the valves get clogged as if it were a puncture, and the punctures need to be below a threshold size
of not being too big to clog .

I didn't know there was more than one.
One tire lasted about two weeks - then the seal failed.
One tire lasted about a year - seal held until the tread was gone.
One tire is still going after about 3 months.

Well, yes, but I'm told the Effetto stuff has magic dust to add that helps with sealing at high pressure.

Use of sealant in any tire requires a little attention to keep the valve free and functioning. Use of tubeless tires requires attention to a lot of details, especially at high pressure. Good luck.

For tubulars, I recommend Effetto Mariposa Caffelatex sealant. Orange Seal would be my second choice for tubulars. I know many cx racers who swear by the awesomeness of Orange Seal in their Cx tubulars.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've actually used Slime occasionally on my tires. It works about 50% of the time. Which is pretty cool I guess. But, I don't follow the recommended instructions. I only put about 1/2 to 1 ounce in a tube. I think it's nice when my leaking tire still holds 90psi a week after using it. Sometimes. Like 50/50 chance.

IMHO Stans dries too fast and leaves stanimals in the tires.
I use Orange Seal almost exclusively and often add some very fine glitter to help clog holes. I have found it to be effective on my road bike and VERY effective on my mountain bike.
