Agreed! I am in the process of getting clothed to get out on my bike for an hour or so. Temp in the high 20s, maybe 30, light SW wind. Roads are pretty wet from melting snow but no ice. I hope to get some winter like pictures of the beach and boardwalk, Bethany Beach DE.

Amen to that.

I was out this morning running. Did 10k. Hate the snow covered paths. But glad I got out.

I also got out my bike briefly doing shopping errands at a couple of stores. No joyrides on the bike for me during the winter. I'll only get on it if there's a place to go in this weather.

I'd kill right now for teens/20s and sun.

After the snowstorm and -30F polar vortex fun, it's raining. Which is great, because now all the powder that froze up in the streets is going to be covered in a nice crusty mess due to the below freezing ground temps.

The groundhog in PA (who is always wrong, by the way) predicts an early spring. Days after the polar vortex that's quite a joke!

tried my usual route around a nature preserve unfortunately there was an interesting & defeating combination of layers to ride on. gravel covered by ice covered by compacted snow covered by powder. I kept breaking thru to the ice & the combination of snow(s) compacted into my treads lifting me above the studs. so I'd get going then break thru & slip, then get going, then break thru & slip, etc.climbing the hills was so hard that when I reached the top(s) I had to get off the bike to settle my breathing. I needed a VERY fat tired bike. so I u-turned after chatting w/ a skier & tried the paved bike trail but it was only marginally better. found solace on a dirt road where trucks had compacted tracks. that riding was great. managed to cover 9 miles in 2 hours. the ending temp was 29 degrees. KUDOS to all of us for getting out for some fun today

tempted to ride across the river, but not tempted enough

Got out There

Got in my 14 mile round trip to the beach and boardwalk, Bethany Beach DE. Turned into a really nice day for a ride, mid 30s, sunny and a light wind from the SW. A lot of salt on the roads. Gave my bike a shower when I got back home.

From the boardwalk

Did not see the little snowman on the fence post until I did this upload

Me and the bike I rode today.

Was out by 10:45 and spent 3 fun filled hours playing on some crazy ice rutted snow covered roads on my way to the easier trails.
