Good day from Montréal!
Hello people, I have been living in Montreal, Canada for the past 5 years - got into cycling and all that goes with it 3 years ago and it became an obsession at some point. love big and comfy tires, especially since the roads around here are full of potholes.
Had my first touring experience over a week with an old 26" pink CCM that was too small for me and crossed a bit of Ontario, which was magnificent. Been crazy about bike touring ever since and ended up cycling around France in 2018 (a proper "Tour de France!").
I volunteer at a local coop bike garage to teach whatever I have learnt over those long hours of fiddling with numerous parts, and try to salvage whatever I can to make decent bikes I can sell at reasonable prices or give to friends and encourage them to cycle! Currently restocking on parts (had to get rid of lots of em since I was moving abroad).
I now aim at acquiring an old, good-looking proper steel touring bicycle. I am on a budget so I don't mind taking time to do that, already collected a few interesting vintage parts. I got hyped over 80s Miyatas and find them absolutely gorgeous (210, 610...), hope to get my hands on one at some point.
Cheers!
