I like the fluted seatstay caps and the lug windows. Seatpost looks to have received some major attention. Any slots or whatnot in the BB shell? Sweet wrap job on those bars, too. Looking forward to seeing this one in person in the not-too-distant future

I still haven't fixed the TT cable guide on the '86 Corsa Mondiale I got on the 'bay a couple years back. Bike is missing a couple of decals (head tube, top tube) but is otherwise impeccable. Came with owners manual.

Yes, it's definitely in the very late 1970s to very early 1980s time frame based on the Portacatena dropout. Most of the later samples that we seen have an open format serial number that make it easy to determine the year of manufacture.

When I posted pics of the "Speckled Trout" Bertoni over in the FB Steel is Real page someone made a comment about some Bertonis being built by Bianchi. I replied and he replied and he ended up posting this. Some of you uh um... more experienced guys might know how true this is or isn't.
I replied that Ben Lawee was an interesting guy and he posted this.

All beautiful bikes!! Bertoni Corsa Mondial. Does anyone know the model year? Just committed to building it from this newly acquired frameset. It'll be treated to Dura Ace 7400. Expect updates.

This fillet brazed, Columbus Max, Bertoni has been getting a bunch of road time since I acquired it a few months ago.

jdawginsc I like it very much. I had read somewhere that the MAX tubeset was better matched to larger riders, because it was so stiff, but I'm not convinced. I'm not that big, only 165 lb.s, and I find it rides great for me...not too stiff at all. I'm very pleased with the build and parts I selected for this. I did have to change out the front derailleur cable, because I had it too tight and I had cut it too short to adjust it out where it needed to be. Now that everything is sorted on the bike, I just love it.

The Superlight got a lot more super after I swapped out the chainrings and rear mech with Super Record.

Super Record chain rings are such an aesthetic improvement from Nouvo Record. Such a great looking bike, and you could give a class on how to wrap handle bars.

Over the weekend, scored a Campagnolo aero seatpost (Victory, maybe?) and MA40 dark anodized wheels in incredible shape.

Woulda thought the seat tube ID was 27.0, but the new seatpost is marked 27.2 and measures 27.1 in spots. Fits great.
