The indiegogo looks pretty impressive, and it looks like a pretty good value at $1077 for chain and calipers, $1369 for belt and hydros. 32lb either way.
Also there's a 'touring package' add-on with fenders, rack, and lights.

I smell a lawsuit on this one, when some barren couple buys one of these things, and rides it faithfully every day, but still can't conceive.
The comments mention what good marketers these guys are, maybe they should have a "Babymaker" line of everything, shoes, craft beers, t-shirts, etc. Why stop with just bikes? There could even be a Babymaker movie.

Single-speed, that's a no-go for me. Here's what it should be: Desiknio Pinion (for $6K of course)

I was interested in this but after some research decided against it. It did motivate me to build my own ebike though.
They have a series of videos where one of the company founders rides the babymaker 2200 miles across Europe. They make it look like he is camping and riding unassisted. They never really show the bike though and not sure how this guy rode the single speed that many miles and across all the mountains. Seemed kind of phony.

It's nice they got $4,700,000 but I wonder what they thought they were going to accomplish with their $20,000 goal

nope, bull horns to cute, brake position not good for commuting.....overall marketing hype and style vs real use practicality

I guess I don't really understand electric bikes. I supppose they are good for people with a disability or who could not otherwise ride a bike. But for me, the entire purpose of riding is to bust my hump up some hills unassisted and get myself in shape. And along the way I like to stop at some scentic spots and take in the view. If I found that my health made it impossible for me to ride, then I'd probably want to buy a nice motorcycle, like and Indian. No, the Babymaker isn't a bike I'll be considering.

From the FAQ:
"While the battery is built into the bike, it can still be removed if ever needed for service. Simply drop the fork, remove the plate on the headtube and pull the battery out to remove."
The name really is pretty silly.
