Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc v/s Cannondale Bad Boy 4 - Guidance needed

Hello Everyone,

Guidance needed from you to choose the right bike for me.

My bike (Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc 2010) was recently stolen from work . I commute around 1.5 miles each way to work and I live in Chicago. I occasionally take the bike (twice a month) around lake shore bike trail for 10-15 mile ride. I live and work in downtown and this time I'll extremely careful about to keep the bike secure and safe at work.

After a while searching for the bikes in various bike shops nearby I came up with two bikes. Cannondale Bad Boy 4 (a2) 2016 and Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc 2016. Can you please help me out to pick the right one for me.

I used Specialized bike but I'm more inclined towards Cannondale this time.

This has a lot of weight, (ha-ha)

Sucks loosing a bike.
(welcome to the forum)

But from my point of view. I would prefer the Specialized based on specs.
14 gauge over 15 gauge on the Cannondale
32mm over the 28mm on the Cannondale.
And lower bottom gear 26/32 verse 28/32.

But I am just over 200lbs. Test ride both, one will win you over.
Good luck, enjoy your new ride.

With the kind of riding you're doing, as with all situations, it's going to come down to which one speaks to you most.

I had a Cannondale Quick CX 4 and loved it... for the 6 months I had it. After putting about 600 miles on her, I started leaning towards a road bike, and haven't looked back. But that's because speed started becoming a higher factor in my decision, and not just comfort. Your experience may differ, and that's totally fine. Do what works for you, the beauty of cycling is there's all TYPES to choose from.
