As a matter of fact I do.

What size frame are you looking for Jim?

Mine's a 59cm I think, fits me ok and I'm only 5'9", since I run my saddle well forward.

I think you can find them mostly at the bottom of swimming pools. Oh wait, that's Keith Moon cars, not Richard Moon bicycles.

I am 5' 10" and typically ride a 57-60 seat tube and 55-58cm c-c top tube. A beautiful bike you have there.! When was your frame made?
Not too much known about these bikes from the research I have been doing.

The one I have was built in the latter 90's,hence the 9s Record gruppo and CXP30 rims.
I'll have to measure the geometry. I found the 105mm stem ideal when I was in racing form though I'm more legs than torso.
Paint was by the late Brian Baylis and is original. Tubing is a mix of Reynolds 753, Columbus and possibly True-Temper from what I recall.

I haven't ridden the bike for some time, I'll have to get out there on contemporary tires and report back in real time.

Adding some more info. One thing is that Richard Moon only built twenty something framesets. Most were more elaborate than mine, all were custom.
Mine is among the last few that he built. I'll have to check the serial number!

David,
Thank you for sharing some details about your beautiful Richard Moon bicycle. I saw my 1st Moon bicycle at the Great Western Bicycle Ralley in Paso Robles around 1995 and it was a Purple/Blue frameset with Gold highlights and it had small moon shaped cutouts in several of the lugs. Never forgot that bike and a vivid memory of it. I have been trying to find a Richard Moon bike because of that memory and I have a few other bikes that were painted by Brian from the 1970's and 1980's all painted in the Imron paint that he was known for. Even though your bike was not specific or custom made, I would be very interested in buying it.
To have a bike like this to match up with the other bikes I have in my size would really be really great. My plan would be to ride the bike on special occasions and to show it off a little and tell the Richard Moon and Brian Baylis story. Would you consider selling me your bicycle?

Here are a few pictures of my Brian Baylis painted Wizard bikes from the 1970's... and a a Bayis bicycle made in 1983 featured on the cover of Connoiseur Magazine of that same year.

This is an ICS Magni Exclusiv Oro... 18k gold, 3D derailleur, internal seat post bolt, leather inserts on shifters, special run of ICS Logo campy groupset.
Only 5 bikes were made, and this is the only 1 in the USA

Just a thought, imagine if somehow ICS had managed to really mass produce those bikes, to the same level of visual quality as this one.

The world would be a more beautiful place!

It warms my heart to see that the Magni appears to have a good few road miles on it.

The Bayliss bikes you posted are beautiful and interesting. Can't say as much of the Magni, which strikes me as somewhat over-the-top and tacky. To each his own!

Yes it is rather arrogant and decadent. I call this bike the " Billy Idol" 1980's Bling Bike. It is an Italian Exotic for sure and I ride it sparingly so the gold does not get worn off too much... The bike has merits on the design side actually. with some unique and interesting innovation ideas for the 1980's in frame design and features.

How about this one to get you thru the weekend.
1970 Mattolini with Jon Williams Drillium and Pantographs. This was one of Jon's personal bikes and his workmanship is considered among the best and unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago.

The ICS Magni Exclusiv Oro is more of a show bike and a real thrill to take out on special riding occasions and a few bike shows too!

Someone catch me, I think I’m fainting...

BRAVO jgerpheide, bravo. Jon is smiling somewhere knowing that you’ve up kept this steed so well. Some of the finest Drillium work I’ve seen has come from Jon’s portfolio and the components on your Mattolini are absolutely beautiful.

Green with envy some would say; struck with awe I am!

The previous owner had removed the Jon Williams drillium parts and assembled them onto a old ratty Masi ! The Mattolini frame was thrown in the corner of a shed and forgotten until I

discovered it. I was able to get all the components off the Masi and buy the Mattolini frame and build it back as Jon Williams had it.

Just following up here, congrat's on the Jon Williams Mattolini rescue! Jon was such a master of the drillium proccess.

Jgerpheide is the new steward of my much-prized, Bayliss-painted Richard Moon!

Congrat's J, I really enjoyed your visit and look forward to your next trip up to this area.
