Very funny. We're talking about the four most common frame materials - aluminum, carbon, steel, titanium. Of course a bike made out of bubble foam won't be very stiff - DUH!

Mg damping is almost as good as some carbon frames, both blow steel out of the water

No, we're talking specifically about the ExoGrid tubing and the claims made around that, but in any case, it's a discussion way off-topic in this thread. I'm sure that if you want to start a new thread asserting that frame material doesn't impact frame stiffness or vibration damping, it will be well attended.

Damping really depends on the jello flavor, and the density of mini marshmallows.

What?! How’d you know?? I suppose you know then, too, about how the shredded coconut enhances lateral stiffness while preserving vertical compliance? Damn…there goes my big come-up!

What if you put fruit in the jello? Does that change its damping ability or stiffness?

Depends on the fruit ... obviously.

Here you go, carbon wheels without a loud and obnoxious hub. Double fixed novatec rear hub, nothing to make any noise. Built with Pillar wing21 spokes. Took a touch over a pound off the bike. Daughter has been doing an excellent job of really putting effort in and staying in the paceline with the older, faster kids so I figure she deserves them. The 23c tires measure just over 25c with the wider rims, hopefully they won't be too rigid on the Kissena track.

Edit: better pic, also bike now weights 15.33lbs, once the rims have stretched I'll swap the tubes for latex for less rolling resistance and more rotational weight loss. Get it to that 15lb line.

Sealant on inner tube

This inherent leakiness of a tubeless tire is considered by some to be an advantage, as the mandatory sealant is able to seal small punctures. If the ability to seal small punctures is something you desire, sealant also can be used within a traditional inner tube.
How do you do that?

The tube needs to have a removable valve core. Then sealant is inserted the same was as it is in a tubeless tire:
  1. unscrew the valve core
  2. inject the sealant via a small flexible tube
  3. reinstall the valve core

^works reasonably well for MTB and gravel.
