What really scares me about a Canyon is losing my footing and falling off. It might be a long ways to the ground. A person might not survive it.

I was so close to buying an Endurace. I did a test ride at their showroom in Carlsbad and was sold. Yet they didn’t have my size for quite some time. Then after months of research I ended up with a Roubaix. My Allez has never let me down for 10+ years and the LBS is a Specialized dealer so I figured it was better to go with a local shop then mail in bike.

I might've missed in this thread, but can someone confirm/correct me if I'm wrong:
Canyon uses a 1.25" (31.8mm) steerer tube on the Endurace CF SLX with the one piece CP0018 Aerocockpit. This is the same steerer tube that is used on the regular CF (which runs a non-proprietary stem and handlebar with external cable routing). While this diameter is non-standard, there are a number of aftermarket stems that fit it (Ritchey and Zipp both make 31.8mm stems).
In the event that one crashes their Endurace and damages the CP0018 Aerocockpit, and cannot find a replacement within a reasonable timeframe/cost, they could install a regular non-integrated 31.8mm stem and handlebar on this bike and still ride it, correct? Similar solution if someone needs a shorter or longer stem due to fit?
I also see many eBay listings for CP0018 Aerocockpit at the moment. I don't know the legitimacy of these listings.
I'm considering buying an Endurace - wondering if this is a real concern, or not. Many of the big manufacturer bikes I'm also looking at have integrated stem/bars which appear proprietary so the same issues exist with those - noting that parts availability for Canyon may be more limited.

I'd shoot an email off to Canyon and tell them your concern, along the lines that you're interested in their bike, but checking inventory of replacement parts, some aren't even listed for sale on the website. See what kinda response you get.

I've had my 2023 Endurace SLX for about 4 months. I couldn't be happier with the bike. The whole process of buying it, communication with Canyon etc was excellent.
What scares me is the lack of accessories and spare/replacement parts that are available for my bike. Fortunately I haven't been in the position where a critical part needs replacing but... if I was to develope a crack or defect in my 1 piece cockpit/handlebar setup they don't have any available in the USA. I could not get a replacment derailleur hanger if I needed one. Here in the US none of the seatposts are avaialbe, but in France I can take my pick. There's just a variety of parts than can't be obtained here in the US. If you go to any of their European sites you can have your pick of the litter. Here in the US the best you can expect is "Coming Soon".
