It actually is a spork. It’s purple, which is the lightest color spork.

I carry one of those travel toothbrushes that comes apart and goes in the cover that doubles as the handle when assembled. To offset the weight, I don’t carry deodorant.

That thing on the rear rack is not a tent but rather a helium tank, which I use to inflate my tires.

Personally I've learned to balance the whole weight weenie tenancies but it does appropriately have its place especially if performance is a concern. Until lighter becomes too light to properly function well seeking ways to save weight isn't the worst. Its when you either have to sacrifice strength or the difference is so negligible that you're saving a couple grams that it starts getting questionable.

Heck no, I love my Ti utensils. Camping equipment is one of those things I really believe is worth the cost to keep light and packable. I just upgraded my tent so I can now fit my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner and air mattress in my frame bag that sits inside the main triangle. The wife has to carry her own sleeping bag, but the tent and mattress easily accommodate two. Cooking can now fit inside the handlebar bag and using Ti utensils and pots the gas canisters and dish soap are the heaviest things in there but lighter on the bar is much better.

I would rather bathe is a stream or lake or warm water with the stove and take a birdbath. Burning fuel lightens the load.

Don’t forget cost too. Sometimes it is simply not worth the £/g saved. The more obsessive weight-weenies have a tendency to ignore this aspect, along with the functionality you mentioned. The end result is often a very expensive and sometimes dysfunctional bike.

TBH, I didn't really expect this thread to take off the way it has. Thank goodness I asked the question. I was concerned about possibly needing therapy. But, Hindenburg wheels are something I never even considered. Imagine the assplosion thrust!

The jury is still out on therapy. But at least weight-weenieism won't be the primary reason.

hydrogen isn’t nearly as flammable as they would have you believe. Airships take no fuel to stay afloat and are better for the environment. They just had to have one dude go “ooh the humanity!” and it tanked the entire industry. The Hindenburg was a false flag/psyop, even in the official narrative only a third of the passengers died. They also severely understate the carrying capacity of the ships. They are huge, you could fit a velodrome up there, and they claim modern aircrafts can fit more people.
