You implied that the person who called it gouging was wrong. He's not wrong (which is the point I was making). You are adding a requirement that isn't in the definition.
Again, this is wrong. No one has to actually buy at the inflated price for it to be price gouging. If you want it, you can choose not to buy it.
No. It's not a requirement in this definition that there be a "limited supply".
The "demand is high, supply is limited" is a common/usual property but it's not necessary.

The "especially" here indicates there are other reasons (even if they are unusual).

Asking for an inflated price on something that is readily-available at normal prices isn't gouging, it's wishful thinking and trolling for suckers.
This has gotten to the point of ridiculousness. I'm done.

The first few definitions match the one I quoted. You just went further to find a definition that happened to suit you.
In any case, it's talking about a definition pertaining to legislation. That is, it's defining what illegal price gouging is (which you called "moving goal" posts earlier!).
You were already ridiculous.
From the National Conference of State Legislatures..."Price gouging refers to when retailers and others take advantage of spikes in demand by charging exorbitant prices for necessities, often after a natural disaster or other state of emergency."
You just moved the goalposts.

This is wrong.
The definition doesn't require "not having any other choice". No one is really required to pay the too-high price anyway. You could choose to go without or you might not have the money to pay for it.
