going home yesterday was pretty hum-drum, bit of a headwind, but after reading how everyone is freezing, I can't complain much.

as far as the commute today? wet. it rained, i got wet, my stuff got wet.

I need to get a watertight something to carry my stuff in. i just cant justify spending over $100 on a roll top chrome bag (the only one i like that i've seen)

maybe I'll get some of those giant zip-lock bags & put my stuff in that & then put that in my trusty EASTPAK backpack I've had for like 15 years

$5 vs. $150...I'm sold

Played BART tag today. Left the house and rode to Lake Merritt BART station (2 miles). Took BART to Berkeley and rode to the bike shop and then to Pinole (about 15 miles). Stopped midway in Albany for breakfast at a little 5 stool counter that's been recommended to me. Great!

Return trip? Rode Pinole to N. Berkeley BART (about 13 miles) BART to Fruitvale Station and then biked home (2 miles).

Wore shorts and a tee today. Tennis shoes. Temps in the mid 70's to low 80's.

Ride home was dry... That was unexpected. Overall pretty pleasant. Overcast and dark, but that just made stand out more with my lights.

Got yelled at a few times to get out of the road. I took the lane a bit more than normal. Nobody drove stupidly though.

First time back on the bike since the crash two weeks ago. I only did the ride home (4.5 miles) to see how the cracked rib is doing. No problems breathing on the hills but I could tell my conditioning had suffered a little. Overall it's great to be back on the bike.

Rode to work it was sunny and warm this morning. Just a hair over 7 miles one way. At the end of the shift it started raining hard and I wasnt prepared. Had to get picked up, was looking forward to the ride back.

25 degrees above average on the ride in, gotta love that!

Discovered the front tire flat as I was about to come home. The Topeak Road Morph, while one of the better pumps out there, is still a pain in the ass.

The weather was beautiful on the walk to the car, too, just to add insult to illness.

Not looking forward to the rain. I know it's coming and I should get prepared. No fenders yet, those I'll get this week. What about rain wear? It doesn't ever get cold where I'm at, but it can hammer down the wet. Is Gortex the leader in lightweight, breathable or are there better fabrics out?

Around 45 degrees or so. Not too cold. A bit foggy, not much traffic. Enjoyed the ride. Dark though !

Mid 40sF and overcast. Started out with a headwind but it died out during my ride. Only saw 4 people on the MUP. All "regulars" on foot.

Still sick, but I felt good enough to ride today. Most days, the ride home from work is the major stress-busting commute. Today, it was the ride in. I had family drama last night, so I was glad to have a little while to clear my head and surround myself with quiet and darkness.

On the downside, I think all the motorists got together and decided to buzz me. 4 buzzes on one commute! Jerks.

Fricking COLD. In town, it's warm enough that I started sweating a bit, and then when I got into the corn fields, I turned into a cold head wind and all the sweat made my chest and stomach numb. Gotta figure out how to fix that...

'Twas sunny but rather nippy this morning. About 40F. If I had a longer commute, I would have layered more, but I did fine for my little short one. I could have used some ear coverage, but it still wasn't bad.

It was mid thirties, and raining, with a nice stiff headwind.

I wore my rain gear, but my lung didn't like the moist air. and my bike is now covered in road grime. laaaaaame.

About 34F, with a wiind chill in the mid 20's. Then add bike speed, you get the picture. COLD, but I still enjoyed every minute.

First time on the NuTeck airless tires. I was a bit nervous. Handling is different - squirmy feeling sometimes.
Sluggish - definitely more rolling resistance.

23F. Need to move to the next level of clothing. Larger shoes to accommodate thicker socks and different gloves. Otherwise, it was beautiful with the waning moon and all.

dressed too warm today, had to stop and remove a layer. Much better than the alternative, though. Got stuck riding with inadequate gloves a few weeks ago, not fun at all.

Only one buzz today, and that was inside my company's campus which means a high likelihood it was one of my lovely coworkers. I'm pretty sure the same guy has buzzed me on campus before. A**hole.

I'm down until I get my rig back from the shop...shifter indexing for the rear derailleur went out, will have the grip shifters (which I loathe) switched to trigger shifters.

A bit cold. Worst part is i couldn't find my cold weather gloves. My hands were freezing to start out. I did warm up but i can kinda still 'feel it' in the bones of my hands.

A little chilly, but my legs were surprisingly fresh and springy after 4 days off the bike.

Great ride, even if I did have to get to work after it!
