Hunt 4 Season Gravel Disc Wheelset vs Fulcrum Racing 4 DB
Requirement -
Lighter than the 2kg anchors on the 2019 Giant Defy Advanced 2
Strong, Durable, Built for the heavier rider
Fitting 28c Tubeless tyres
HUNT 4 SEASON GRAVEL DISC WHEELSET $569 AUD;
20mm internal width
24mm deep
1630g
28 J-Bend spokes front and rear
Brass 14 gauge nipples
Stress tested to 140kg on both axles over 1000km of cobble
Fulcrum $499 AUD
17mm internal width
35mm deep
1690g
24 straight pull spokes front and rear
Aluminium nipples
"Anti-rotation system"
This new system raises the concept of spoking to a new level of performance for road bike and triathlon wheels ( and mtb too)
The Fulcrum® engineers have redesigned the spokes and the hub housings to create a solid and unmoveable whole. The result is that the spokes
a) will never lose their initial tension, thus keeping the wheel perfectly reactive and centred
b) will remain in the position that have been studied in the wind tunnel tests to ensure the best aerodynamic penetration possible.

I have the hunt wheels on my Raleigh tamland. I'm a clyde who rides rough chip seal rural roads. I haven't had any problems with them at all. I ordered them directly from hunt and they were great at answering questions quickly and the purchase/ shipping was flawless.

Do you have the 15mm thru axle on your Tamland? If so, did you have any clearance issues with the center-lock hubs? Thanks!

Definitely through axle, but not sure which diameter off the top of my head. Everything went together like it should and haven't had anything rubbing.

Yes, I think the new ones are 12mm. Mine is 2017 and they were 15mm. The industry has now standardized on 12mm but back then they were still trying to figure it out.
