Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dunno how that could be related to anything. Half tempted to bump it.

Do you folks see the P&R threads listed in the Related Topics below or is it just mods that can see them. Asking because no one else has mentioned them. More importantly, can you get into P&R and post?

Since I'm here, how's everyone doing?

I find that my fascination with the sport has changed. I now am much less interested in the gear, though I still love fast bikes, and much more interested in the fitness and science behind it, and racing.

Anyone else have a similar development?

That system is going away and the new system works with an app on my iphone. So when I need to prescribe a controlled substance, I have to take my iPhone out of my pocket, enter my security code to see the 6-digit password running on the app. My co-worker has an Apple watch and she can have the app running on the watch face which allows her to know the temporary password without taking out her phone.

edit: Smart watch. You can't say it all in one word. Sad!

I am wondering if there is a way to get the app info on a device or smar****ch short of coughing up $400 for an Apple Watch. I don't really want to spend that much $$ if possible.

Any ideas??

Edit: Smart Watch. You can't say it all in one word. Sad.
Is there a biometric option, like finger print (which I'm sure you dont have) or iris?

You can buy an older apple watch.

Biometrics would be a great thing for the clinical and government worlds, both of which are under constant cyber attack and hamstrung by clunky security. I live in both and it’s a pain in the ass. All I’ve got at this point is fingerprint on my phone, but my 2-factor stuff works by SMS and now, increasingly, requires a PIV and a reader. Sad!

Issue is not so much biometric vs. enter security code, it's having to take phone out of pocket and look at it during patient visit. Sad!

Maybe I can get a batman style utility belt and wear it on my belt.

I suppose you could install Android studio on your laptop and emulate a phone like developers do. You'd need a good laptop though, and getting Android studio configured is fairly involved.

I may just have to get my IT people to get me an Apple phone.
