Addiction LXXIV

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Me, too. We're in the process of landscaping and as soon as that's done, the watering system comes next.

My wife is still struggling with her back from her fall last September. Her newest doctor has effectively banned her from an upright so she's been riding the heels off of her trike. Back on the heat topic, we didn't start until 9:30 or 10 this morning and it was 91ļ at the end of our 30 mile ride.

For the record, her hand is now about 90% and the docs are calling it a successful recovery. The funny thing is that her left hand grip strength is greater than her right (she's right handed) from all of the therapy and exercises. She still can't make a perfect closed fist but she's pretty close and most of the pain is gone. Now, if her back will ever recover so she can ride upright again.

We have one in our house at the beach. About a half an acre lot, with 11 zones, two of which aren't working very well. One has a leak somewhere and the pressure isn't enough to pop the heads. The other one is a zone with drip lines that never seem to drip - I have identified which zone I think it should be - now I need to find the valve, but it is too damned hot out to mess with the thing now.

The problem with the high road is that it reinforces that there aren't any consequences for endangering others and for asshattery. If I can find his employer/company, I'll be more than happy to blow him up on social media/review sites.

Someday I'd like to do under 5 hours solo, but I'm happy with this ride.

Like I said in this thread https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycl...nd-pump-2.html

Nice!

I did a solo 5:10 100 mile TT back in 2006 on a low racer recumbent (I was 55 y.o.). This was a sanctioned UMCA event. I carried 140 oz. of diluted Gatorade and several cut up energy bars. I did have some serious cramping near the end.

Tomorrow is my first race after a recent category upgrade.

I'm split between having no expectations for myself, other than to learn, and really wanting to be on the podium and will face inevitable disappointment when I don't.

As someone who has lived on Nexium for over 20 years, PPI's work fantastic for allowing the stomach to heal. But what do I know
