When do bikes get refreshed?
Planning on buying a new bike in the coming months or next year. However, was just wondering when new bike models come out? Do the new 2021 bikes come out before 2021 or actually in 2021?

Most brands have so many models that they can't release new model year bikes at the same time so they come out all during the year. Some brands don't even have 'model years' anymore. Trek, for example, will release new road race bike(s) at the same time as the TdF...except for this year.

Hopefully demand will stay high for a long time after COVID. Hopefully people take cycling more seriously and it won't be a 70s bike boom, "gas is cheap again let's go a guzzlin'" but who knows? Nobody can really predict what is going to happen.

It's catywumpus right now. I'm working part time for a bike shop prepping 2021 bikes for sale. I assume that some time early next year, I will be prepping what would have been 2022 bikes for sale.
I'm not sure there are going to be any big upgrades to bikes given the disruption we have seen. Has any component manufacturer other than Campagnolo come out with anything new recently?

Curious when will bikes or manufacturing be able to adapt to the demand and get the supply normalized to pre-Covid levels. Anyone has idea when it will happen?
I wish to buy a new gravel bike. But even the entry level models have their prices gone up quite a bit that I can't afford them anymore. I can wait for their prices to go down when supply vs demand goes back to normal.

And hopefully, manufacturers will try to meet that demand, instead of just jacking up the prices.
I've seen many going to e-bikes or motorcycles. Probably frustrated that expensive upgrades or even an expensive bike will not make them much faster. But an expensive motorcycle is guaranteed to be faster!

Currently they are trying but alas with all the shutdowns and issues globally it has been tough. I don't think they are planning any price jacks.
E-bikes are a growing segment of the industry. Regular bikes have generally been rather stagnant over the years e-bikes are going up in popularity. There are still people stuck in the past on them but a lot more people are coming around. Usually it is those who haven't actually ridden one of quality and just see the junk. I see a lot of junk but I have ridden a good deal of quality ones and the arguments against them really don't hold water.
A motorcycle however is a different thing and industry entirely.

I got a 30% discount on my first proper bike because it was last years models and the stickers were different.
But generally, yeah, there's usually some improvements with new models. My latest one (Carrera Zelos) got disc brakes in the 2020 model, updated geometry, etc. For most bikes with yearly updates it's probably not such a big deal.
