WTB: Nice Condition Williams C34 crankset
Hello folks,
I've got about 30 hours until an auction for a decent Williams C34 crankset on eBay UK ends, which I will purchase if nothing comes up here.
However, if anyone happens to have a set with nice chrome and a single chainring between 44-48 teeth, with either fluted or unfluted arms, I am on the lookout... Just let me know. Thanks!

Well, if I get an old enough crankset, I'll put it directly onto a restored Carlton Super Python frame from around 1950 that I'm building up. However, the most likely scenario is that I'll get one that's not quite old enough, so I'll swap out an appropriate one from that 1954 Super Python that I haven't sold yet and put the new one on that as a replacement.
What I'm building will look like this almost exactly to original catalog(ue) specifications:

Is there a build thread? I'd like to see the restored frame - did you have it painted? One day the Wasp will get that treatment.

Killroy1988 I went and had a look and I take this back, might've over sold it a little. The chrome is in "OK" condition, with a few rust spots. Definitely needs restoration, so not appropriate for your as-new condition build.

No worries, thanks for checking. I may still be interested, though. The frameset in question was restored some time ago in England but I will be repainting it again. I also have some components that need to be re-chromed so chroming one of the cranksets or the other is part of the plan - the 1951 C34 I have on the other Super Python will need to be re-chromed for sure if I use it for the restored frame.
Here's a thread where I showed off the frame as received. This is still how it looks but I do have a full set of appropriate transfers ready for the re-restoration:
Another Carlton Super Python..! - Bike Forums
