Just won this bike at a local auction for less then 50$. Dont know anything about it. Bugatti seems to be a small Danish bike brand now owned by unicykel. But i have never heard of it before.
Can anyone identify the crank ? Rear derailleur seems to be Spidel SX440 T and front derailleur Spidel/Simplex Super LJ.

The rings match the ones on a Solida crank I had on a early-80s Peugeot, but the crank itself is not similar.

Cool, Thanx! I think i figured it out, read about Spidel on velobase, "meta-brand created in the late 70's-early 80's by Stronglight, Simplex and a few other producers", googled on Stronglight and found Stronglight 190. Could it be Stronglight 190 with Solida rings ?

Got this today, it was tied to a tree with a "$5" sign on it about two miles from my house.
I couldn't pass it up, any single part on it is worth $5, let alone an immaculate pair of wheels. and tires.
The thing is a total hodge podge of misc parts but it rides fantastic.

The chrome on this thing is in amazing shape, the cranks and sprocket will shine up like new, as will the fenders. The rims look like new. Too bad the frame is brush painted and the cg and forks don't match. Its super comfortable to ride though.

Where in NJ are you? I think either Second Life Bikes in Asbury or the Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange in Trenton or Plainfield would help take all that stuff. Second Life started as "the Bike Church" and the shop funds kids learning to make repairs and fixing up a bike for themselves. I think the Boy & Girls Club is similar. I know Second Life Bikes will flip the low end stuff to hipsters.

Was disassembling the Yokota today and found these on the bike. And after a quick search, they are ODI Attacks designed by the legendary John Tomac. Nice freebie, IMO. Good thing I saw Tomac's name on them or I would have just put them back on the bike. This is going in my keeper pile or on one of my mtb's.

The mis-matched parts sort of look cool on that thing, I'd leave it the way it is. Sort of a red, white, and blue-ish type of theme. The Araya rims are an upgrade on that thing too, the originals were pretty low end stamped steel with cheap chrome, Araya chrome wheels usually had much nicer chrome.

I replied to a CL ad yesterday for a free Nishiki Sport mixte. The seller told me to come today at noon and it would be mine. Before I could leave his home, he insisted I take a big-box Schwinn as well - so I got 2 bikes for free. He told me he bought a lot of 50 bikes at a police auction in Ocean City, MD and was only planning to keep the single speed cruisers. That explains the rust on the steel parts - the ocean air is not friendly to steel. The Schwinn MTB will be donated, so I am passing it on quickly. I was expecting the Nishiki to have either a stuck seatpost or stem, but both are free. The cables will need to be replaced. Other than that, I plan to service it and sell it in the spring.

I needed something to ride around with the family. Found this Mercier Kilo TT really cheap on Craigslist. Spent all morning trying to get it comfortable, and played around with it a little.

I picked up this early '70s Fuji S10-S (Special Road Racer) about 45 minutes ago for $25 from an older gentleman that could no longer ride. It is nothing special but it is in great shape and has a Belt leather saddle in very good condition, Suntour barcons and an early Dura Ace crankset in perfect condition. The saddle, crankset and probably the barcons will be pulled before I sell it.

A bump to the dis-assembly:

I stripped the Nishiki today (except for the fork) and it was in better shape than I had hoped. The bottom bracket shell is clean except for some residue at the bottom.

I was sure I would need to replace all of the BB internals, but they were in good shape. They are having a mineral spirits bath now. Even the fixed cup came off easily. The fork will come off tomorrow so I can rebuild the headset.

The brakes came out of a six day Evaporust bath. The rust on the steel bolts, nuts, and such is gone; but I was amazed that most of the white aluminum corrosion was gone as well. That was not expected.

The derailleurs and shifters are soaking in Evaporust now along with a couple of small steel nuts & bolts.

My score today; yeah, I am giddy. 1987 Cannondale SR2000 with mostly Campy Record; also boxes of pedals, seats, handlebars, seatposts. This Cannondale will see the road again.
