Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In other van news, I'm glad I never got rid of the $300 2001 Chevy Venture whose transmission started slipping a year back or so.

Turns out the 1-2 and 2-3 springs are pretty easy to replace and less than $50 for the shift kit. I might have 2 fully functional nearly identical minivans pretty soon.

We briefly window-shopped them before deciding we'd rather stay in hotels, and you can get a lot of flights and hotel nights for the price of one. We probably still wouldn't have, but that equation looks a little different these days.

Out on Cape Cod some of the beaches allow you to camp so long as your camper is self contained (has a bathroom). There’s a ton of really cool older Winnebagos that have 4x4 conversions, lift kits, solar power. Pretty interesting to see RVs rolling around on 35s

Oh boy! I was listening in on a conference call and making some noises (stomach muslce cramps) and other sounds because I thought I was on mute. I was not.

On my prescribed easy week. Went swimming, and the neighborhood pool is nearly a hot tub. Even for me.

I'm impressed, 213 unread emails in my inbox this morning.

Maybe 30% of them substantive

I was on a low mileage week last week but may go even lower this week.

1. I’m tired; no days off since sometime back in June.
2. Avastin injection tomorrow so I won’t ride on that day.
3. Nothing but 90s and high humidity after that.

Enjoy. I need a light week too and I lack reasons 1 and 2. HRV was in the red zone this a.m. and it's either training or COVID.

Hope it’s the former; the latter means more than a light week!

Now you've done it - you went and edited and now it looks like I've given you a thumbs up for possibly having covid.
