I replaced most of the components and tried to keep it period correct or at least as close to period correct as possible, I have new decals for it but not sure yet how to take off the old ones since they’re really baked on..

I have a 1992 Trek 950 I need to rebuild. I partially rebuilt it once when I first picked it up to make it rideable (overhauled the hubs and replaced the BB which forced me to replace the crank). I then ended up riding the bike in winter which is tough on a bike. So it's time to take it completely apart and rebuilt it. I never liked the v brakes and those shimano trigger shifters are only so so. I plan on rebuilding with cantilevers and thumb shifters. I'll likely go with a butterfly bar since I want to use this bike for touring on tough surfaces. It's next on the build queue.

I don't see any decals that really need to be replaced although it may seem like a good idea it can be challenging to get them off without doing harm.

Patina, battle scars, et all, its only original once and many that matter and know better want it that way, just sayin.

Oh, and nice job, great looking bike.

Not sure as to the year, hubs probably not OE (still old, no date code on "AW" hub). I have it's "brother" in another time zone (or maybe universe). More poor quality photos! Turning into an orange crush machine.

A couple of things, My 2012 Fuji has been upgraded to Ultegra Fitness level rear flat bar shifter, Rear Derailleur, and brake levers to match the existing Ultegra brakes and the Dura-Ace DT front shifter and front derailleur.

Worked on my Bianchi Forza last night. I added a set of Campy DT shifters to replace the Suntour Accushifts shown in the photos. I'm not sure where to go with it next. I may look for some Campy brake levers to replace the Cane Creek models I'm using now...

I may need to buy a tensiometer and learn to use it. I might have been overconfident in my wheel building skills. I built wheels for my Lemond a few years ago, and I haven't ridden the wheels much, and the rear rim is broken. The cause appears to be excessive spoke tension. I mean, what else could it be?

I'm playing musical chairs with my wheels. The broken wheel and its mate were on my Lemond. I put 650b wheels on my Lemond which is a mostly successful experiment, except that the rear tire has only 2mm of clearance next to each chainstay. I put this now-broken wheel on my Raleigh International after the 24-spoke wheel broke. Now on that bike, I'm using an old rear wheel from my McLean. I built it and its mate back in 1983. They have Campy Record hubs, Ambrosio Elite rims, DT stainless spokes, and a 7-speed freewheel.

So now I have two bikes with 10-speed shifters and 7-speed freewheels. Oddly enough, these systems work well enough. But I will eventually rebuild my wheels properly.

I got my Lejeune our on the road for the first time today. It’s running 650x42 fixed with a set of Velo Orange wheels. I really like their track hub. It has tons of adjustment built in.




The Mafac Raid brakes have excellent modulation. Even with new pads and straddle wires from Rene Herse, they squeal like a banshee, but that’s fine. Also, the Velo Orange Course bars are amazing in 46cm. The drops are heaven.




I need some spacers for the rear the rear brake bolt, it’s on my work bench waiting to be put on.

^ Great looking frame. Chain slack suggests pulling back the axle further or removing a link.

Bought a huffy on my birthday, stripped and torched the frame, built a jig and time to customize

Handles like a huffy which isn't a good thing, ugly as sin. Time to make this a worth while bike. Build a jig to keep things in line, stripped the frame down and ready to start the rebuild

I thought it was the end of my world today. Doing some assembly of my Sakae, was tightening the BB thought there was a crack sound, in hindsight dont know what i heard.
Went on working then later saw what looked like a crack along the top of the stay and across the back of the BB. After a sunken hart much swearing pulled the bike apart again looking in and out with a magnifying glass and torch then going back over old photos when I bought the frame nos realized its a casting line. It's still worries my its a crack but it isn't. What a sickening scare after all this work so far.
Besides that it's looking awesome, better than I can photograph it
I mirror polished the dropouts and wet sanded some alloy bars the same as the frame too. Also may need to change the headset.

I’m overhauling hubs and bottom bracket on a 1978 Peugeot PSN-10 I picked up 2 weeks ago. No surprises so far, but these parts were filthy and had lots of the original rock hard grease that needed to be cleaned off of all cups and cones.Never a fun job!
