Not vintage but...
I love the hyperbole for a basic Bikes Direct road bike. Extra points for 90% of the pictures being fuzzy and posting his ad over and over. Also, Bikes Direct is selling it for $100 less than he is.
Dawes
Brand New Made in England ALL ALUMINUM racing bike 27" WHEELS 24 SPEED - $399 (retails over $1000)
A bargain deal , I paid $699 on sale plus sales tax . Bike was gift for Grandson Birthday. He ask me to exchange it for a full mountain fat tire bike, and dealer wants a high restock fee because bike was taken out of box and put together by me and dealer wants return ship cost, So I decided why should that dealer get to double dip So I am offering this to some 1 at a bargain if you can use a great bike like this. This bike is made on England by racing bike pros of Dawes Mfg and this has dual brake system on handle see pictures, this is top of the line racing 24 gear speed shimano system, top of the line racing brake system, and top of line racing aluminum 18" frame. Check out the pictures, Bike has lifetime warranty by MFG. I have all the paperwork on the bike. If you know quality and Bikes you will know this a basement bargain deal once in a life time deal. This has been sitting in my home family room since taken out of box, so no 1 rode this bike, and it is 100% brand new. Suggested Retail on this bike model Lighting 1000 by Dawes Mfg is $1200, and I got on sale at $699. This now is a super bargain at $399 cash and carry.

Oh, not to mention those AutoBikes were the spawn of Satan. "Friend of a friend" of mine used to have one; why he didn't push it into the lake (he might have by now) is beyond me.

I swear this person has been trying to sell this bike on our local CL for several years now and started out in the 4-digit price range. Every year or so they drop the price a little. https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/b...020469868.html
And from a pet free home- I suppose that means you can be sure that the dog wasn't taking it out for a ride when the owner wasn't home.

"Oh, the stupidity!...."
Re-read the ad, it say's "pet's free home" (with an apostrophe). So the pet's free to ride the bike whenever s/he wants....
Though on a slightly more serious note, I would be lying if I said there's not a single cat hair stuck in a BB shell or head tube of any bike that's been on our stand....

Bikes are okay, I guess.

Perhaps it means that the pet pays no rent or doesn't contribute to the mortgage- the pet's free home, as opposed to the pet's paying home

Our dog sleeps in front of the wood stove and has been known to smolder occasionally.

Anyone want a "Pimpin bianchi frame"?
"This purple bianchi frame is totally pimpin, but slightly suspect. The fork is perfect match with the recessed lettering on the lugs, but clearly came from a smaller size frame, and was extended to fit this frame as a replacement. I got this frame years ago and I am resigned to the fact that I am not going to use it."
Yes, only slightly suspect....

Has anyone tried reversing a stem? I don't imagine it's too bad for steering...
