No pics, but on this morning's ride I saw a turkey vulture land directly across the street (two lane back road) and claim a dead raccoon. I don't often see them so close. He was huge!
Also startled a white tailed deer in the brush a few miles later. It was also very close, and jumped and ran off quickly.

Did a 37 mile ride in the hills above Simi Valley, CA yesterday. This pickup truck was in the woods at the top of Tapo Canyon. There were a couple of road bikes in the bed, which looked as bad as the truck does. I saw some kind of blue Schwinn and an either gray or white Nishiki. There was also some kind of ladies framed cruiser. I climbed thru a broken barbed wire fence to check them out, but the dogs were barking and I didn't think to get any pictures. Maybe next time. Here's the truck.

That is the former headquarters for the now defunct Lonaberger Basket Company. They were hand made in Dresdon, Ohio. They were mostly sold at parties, like Tupperware. Every home in Ohio has a few, or so it seems. My sister-in-law, who lives about 20 miles from there, was a dealer.

I took a rural ride this morning. A deer paused on the road in front of me, not close enough to make it a near collision. She didn't see me at first, and then she ran. She was huge.
Later, a flock of six brown ducks crossed the road as quickly as possible. I think they might have been two parents and four ducklings. I am not familiar with the breed.
Sorry, no pictures. I'm not quick at shooting pictures.
Also, we have a cardinal who visits our window several times a day to collide into it. He's been doing it since April, so he's not injuring himself. I think he's fighting off a perceived rival. I think I've seen him with a mate, so I'm glad his silly mission isn't getting in the way of his more important mission.

In high school I worked as a dishwasher/cook at the Marc's Big Boy (midwest was Marc's, west coast, Bob's). They were redoing the roof and took the Big Boy down and put it in the "garbage" area. I was opening one Sunday morning and driving in on Park street (4-lane boulevard), there was the Big Boy, right in the middle of the north-bound lanes. I laughed out loud when I saw him.
We figured some Saturday-night drunks pulled a great prank.

The road was gone.
I've been going up to this area of northern Wisconsin for 50 years. For the first 47, I'd never seen an entire road washout. Now it happens on a regular basis.
