I did mention that they were “standing in the road” that slowed me down. No need to kick over any bikes, all those Lime bikes have disappeared. I wonder where they went?

So in your own words you are slow and the streets are wide but somehow 3 riders still got in your way? I can't imagine they were in your way for more than a few seconds.

Too bad those lime bikes went away since you are now taking out your displaced anger on people around you rather than on inanimate objects.

Maybe a few months of therapy would be more useful for him rather than continually complaining about the people he encounters in life? We can only hope.

They have a small enough scale to identify lesser traveled roads, yet cover a pretty wide area for long rides.

When my son was younger and would ask those questions like, "How far?" and "When are we going to get there?," I would answer: "A road warrior doesn't ask questions like that. All a road warrior wants to know is where are we going and how are we going to get there?".

Hey, come on, this is General Cycling - the place to vent all First World Problems, unless you are a 'real' cyclist which requires one to spout FWPs loudly on the 41.

And Walnut Creek is kinda a privileged place, or at least, it used to be.
He didn't: Call the cops, draw his weapon, run them over, air-horn 'em or bear spray 'em, etc.

If this was the 50+ Forum, i'd tell you to get off his lawn.

edit: Mods - isn't there a rule against sliming people before achieving 10 posts?

Post count does not necessarily correlate to wisdom, relevance, or couth. Just look at your post for a prime example of that fact.
It depends on one's point of view. Eh?

I may not have wisdom, but always try to have couth.
for to become uncouth would become unconscionable.

edit: maybe people took me too literally, I put a smiley in the post initially.

A group of three riders passed me but then I soon caught up to them standing in the road looking at a map, they seemed to be deciding to turn left. I asked where they are going and got the reply "Diablo". My reply "you're going the wrong way". So I continued on, I could see the locally famous mountain straight ahead. After getting through the neighborhoods I came out on Walnut Ave and turned right heading up. Looking back to the left I could see those three riders. They came by and I said "told you so". I hope they had a nice ride but they could have done better and learned something by just looking around them and following the obvious route. I'm a fan of keeping the map in my pocket and figuring it out on my own, it's way more fun. Even worse is slavishly following some computerized route.
I bet they wish they were you.

Kind of OT, but it seems like every good hike is on the intersection of 4 7.5' quads.

Hah, I once did exactly as the OP espoused while riding in New Castle, Australia. Big mountain off in the distance just bugged me so I rode at it. Had to break out the phone a few times to make sure I wasn't heading down a veritable dead-end, which I did a few times. Took a few roads I probably shouldn't have (was there for a while on business travel.) and ran out of water at one point but climbed the big hill that day.

Why didn't you ask if they needed directions, or better yet, offer to show them a "shortcut". Unless you just wanted to be a jerk haha

Ouch...and assumptive...but possibly true in some fashion

I live in the SF Bay area (specifically south bay near Mtn. View/Sunnyvale) and I can see Diablo fairly easy from here....

You can do better. Make them watch while you refold the map - THE WRONG WAY!
